an boy did they come in the pulley an its mounting bolt nut an spacers still had the slow pack mule hair from florida i know it was from there as it was funky colors an smelled of sea salt

and my score of the year a NOS 1988 K&N airfilter fit like a glove! for 18 bucks still in original box faded an bit scuffed

SO with pulley in hand we set to work on the AC system had a leak in the low side line from compressor to firewall gona hve to replace it eventually not sure what pin head CUT it in half an put on hose clamps...
got that handed got the system purged oil filled added freon an kept adding freon (134) whistling waiting for the ac clutch to click when it had enough pressure to trip..but no...we finally had to rev the engine up over 1k rpm an then it started to work got the prescribed Oz of freon in

double checking fuses (i didnt remember ac an heat were accessible via the removal of the glove box

showing my fog light switch i didnt like the feel of reaching for it on the right side so left behind the headlights it went

an finally grill back on grill guard decided to be difficult had to bend the leg a bit ...okOK i adjusted the bumper with the slide hammer as things settled it got tight an then i had to grind a bit off the guard that sat on the bumper bolts an finally wrestled it into place
ugh! but looks awesome

ok question for those who know the black VSV is related to the ac idle up which isnt doing it it shares fittings on the valve with the power steering idle up
we messed round with the hoses making sure we didnt have um reversed or something but nothing hear air hissing from the vsv when lines were reversed intentionally
anyone good with ac? right now it cools long as the engine rpm's stay up over 1k if it idles which mine does at 8-900 the clutch kicks out an no ac like sitting at a stop light

so my shift boot has seen better days in its life the flaking an ugly so i found A.O. enterprises they had auctions on ebay for other shift boots an found they had the paired ones for our dual sticks i was WOOT and they do gray black red plether
http://www.ebay.com/usr/aoenterprise...84.m1497.l2754
my console has the 11.5" boot length which on their auction you just tell them an they will ship the larger size came all inside a padded envelope so put it out in the sun to warm an relax the material
the edge has an elastic cord to help but id recommend thread an a needle and or glue to hold it to the metal frame you must recover from your old boot so here we go
old boot um...yeah seen better days

old boot removed from metal frame easy cut the old threads an remove (i cleaned mine up with a bit of scotch brite to make the glue hold better)

all warmed an relaxed started installation an gluing clamps ahhh the clamps!!

ooh lookin good already

glue all set off to install in my plastic console

an there it is all installed easy stuff but makes it look a LOT better

sorry bit blurry at the knobs

they also do the center console arm rests but they dont have a pattern for the 1st gen 4runner well been talking a bit with them will be sending mine which is all ripped an not even the right color to them to make a new one

Big improvement! Your old one looked like it had a skin disease! I just got a leather console cover from topgaiters on eBay. They have the pattern for 84-89 4Runners and newer 4Runners and trucks. I pm'd them and they made me a gray leather one that matches the boot I got about 3 years ago. It fits like a glove and arrived in less than a week.

As far as the idle with the ac on have you tried adjusting the white plastic knob by the upper intake??also isn't there a adjustment knob behind the glove box??I thought this was for adjustment of the idle with the ac on.lights look great!!

i tried fiddling with the knob behind the glove box but again no change

They don't offer it. My foam seems okay but it needs a little padding, like a layer of quilting fill. For foam go to Family Dollar or Walmart with a critical eye. Find the cheapest pillow that seems to be made from it and kill the pillow for its foam. I'm pretty sure there are lots of "firm" bed pillows made with foam on the inside. It'll be a lot cheaper than having a piece of foam cut for you at Joanne Fabrics. Joanne sells marine vinyl and headliner material BTW. Foam cuts really easily with a razor knife or an electric carving knife. My console project just got delayed due to not finding SEM paint locally and vacation starts Thursday.

Just checking in and seeing how things are going for you. AC is getting moved up the priority list this winter. Last year of doing without it. It is miserable without it. Just got to buy some compressors.
Joanns has some great things, Hobby Lobby is starting to be one of my favorite places as well. I am ready for a vacation. They go so quick.

hey terry yeah my ac is dead again that suction line has to be the cause so i need that replaced
i found an arm rest slip over on ebay im gona play with it an the plate that screws to the console cover see if i ca make it my new arm rest not just as a slip over but fully screwed an glued to the factory plate

bought seat covers for her so least they will last longer they're black an gray the arm rest is the same so it all should work well
i need to find that wiring picture that shows where to install a switch in the back so if your back there you can roll the window down ive got a stout SPDT switch which will work great for it then some other electrical work i want to do in the back red led strips under the dash an front seats also over the cargo area (sight saving) an white LED strips i can turn on instead of the tiny side cargo light which i need to fix that so flick the switch it comes on NOT with the running lights on as well kinda dumb that have to turn on the running lights to turn on the cargo area light... dur should be just flick it on!

installed the seat covers ugh my coughing didnt help things along but i went into being a bit tight reared about it i took the carpet off the back of the rear seats to make it look good then installing the bottom seat covers i broke a strap on a sharp edge of the hinge overall they look excellent had to cut a slot for the rear seat pull strap an headrest holes the pull knobs to drop the seat backs ...
id say they look great an now ya just slip into the seat lol still waiting for my armrest from china

I like the looks of the red and black. That switch for the rear, Mark has it toward the rear of his Ruby truck build. If I recall right, he had just done it before rolling it.
