Thanks for the compliments. I wasnt really too keen on the color at first but I wanted something that would show leaks easy. I used to always paint my blocks black and always had a heck of a time trying to find exactly where a leak was coming from. Im hoping to get the timing kit, pickup tube, and pan on tomorrow. Then order a head gasket from Toyota then pull my runner in the shop to start the transplant.

Did you chrome the cyclinders and pistons?? just kidding, it really looks great. I like the color you are going with on your block. It is killing me seeing you put your motor together. I have to order .20 over pistons and bearings, but the money thing is the hold up. Cant wait to get to do what you are doing right now. Motor is coming along nicely.

I brought my timing kit and water pump to work today. In hoping I get the chance to put it in the engine. I have to clean up an oil pan and pickup tube for it first.

Snapped a few more pics
Decided to do the water pump as well

Old VS new Timing cover. Actually just robbing some bolts.

Put the Pickup tube on. Today. Also ordered a New Oil Pan. Decided to bite the bullet and Pay the 53$ instead of trying to reuse and paint the old one.

Messy Work Area

Decided to pain the Valve Cover Green like the Block. Was going to do a darker color but didnt think that it would blend together well. In primer now

One of the Three donor Engines. Robbed the pickup tube, and the rear main housing.

Also picked up some Comp Cams break in additive.

New oil pan should be here tomorrow, then going to install timing kit/cover, and cyl head.
Getting close

Definitely hard to get the cover on. Because of the dowel pins that slide into the cover from the block.
I didn't torque the pan down until I had the cover on.
Color is really starting to grow on me.

Few more pics. I got the water pump and oil pump on. Picked up my OEM HG and ordered the engnbldr 268 cam and valves.
Have to do valve guide seals and install valves and cam. Then bolt head on.
I'm going to pull the runner into the shop this week comin to yank the engine so I can swap all the EFI components.
Any how. Enough talk. Here's the pics.

Dunno if this will help you out, but i found some info on your lce cam gear.It says using that gear is the only way to accurately degree the camshaft to its proper specifications. So i wonder if there talkin about using a aftermarket cam when they say that.
By the way....NICE PICS!!

Thanks for the link chris!! Im going to do some reading up on that.
Im currently still waiting on the arrival of the new cam and valves, but in the meantime, Im going to chase the head bolt threads and get everything else in need to just slam it all together. I might start pulling the Engine out of my runner this week also so I can send the Injectors out.
