Ive thought about doing that as a last resort. I really have a love hate relationship with the rear tailgate.

Well Kind of hit a road block today. The Cylinder head that I got from the Machinist is kind of messed up. It was all machined, dipped, etc... So I was installing the cam and noticed that the two front bearing caps had been machined and the 2nd cap had an insert in it and the first one was missing the insert.
So in light of not being able to find the lost insert and thinking about it for awhile, Ive decided to get another cyl head that I got from a buddy (thanks chris) and have it cleaned and surfaced. So that when its done, I will install the new valves, springs, seals, etc...
Getting closer!!

I guess I should have been a little more clear with what I said. The window works with the rear key only. I currently have the window switch in the consol jumped on the two terminals (cant remember what wires) to bypass the relay so I can use the key switch. Without the jumper, nothing works (key or switch). I was wondering if I remover the jumper and try terrys idea, if it would then solve the issues.
Sorry for the vague post and info on my rear window.

I grabbed a switch awhile ago at the Yard but have not tried it yet. And I cant seem to find it amidst the plethora of yota junk I have laying around. haha. I should find it and give it a try.

The plug is the one that is connected to the Up/Down Switch. You have to use the front bracket for a ground or createa a ground else where. The rear bracket to the center console has plastic and isolates it from getting to ground.
I eventually want to extend my switch to a spot below the cigarette lighter or one of those holes to get the switch more protected. You could also move your rear wiper switch beside the Up/Down switch and tuck the middle safety switch under neath the carpet.

Dude I love your 4runner it's a sweet rig and I think it looks killer without the exo cage on it for sure. It's definitely one of the nicer 4runner DD's I've seen on here. And just curious do you run a automotive class or what?

I'm an Auto Instructor here in town. I teach at the high school level. It's a college concurrent credit program. I used to teach Auto in Illinois before all the teaching jobs went by the way side.

Sure I'll let you drive it. So long as you don't freak out when you hear the loud "wwwwaaaaack!!!" Sound coming out of my lockers lol. Definitely gets attention when it happens in front of a lot of people haha!
Nooo don't do it he's gonna put you to work! Lol jk

And I hear you on the locker noise. Mine does the sale thing. It took awhile to develop a driving habit to accommodate having them. So now I can drive it and usually not have te loud waaaaaak! Haha
