I am really thinking about getting my rear heater up and running again. It developed a leak a few years ago while I was repairing the floor and I just bypassed it. I am going to need to flush out the core and run new lines.

I thought about getting the replacement steel lines from the dealer but have been thinking about making my own.

What do you guys think?

hmm not sure how to go about making your own hoses, so it would make for a great read when you get it done
Personally, i wish my 4runner had the rear heater cuz it takes forever to heat the cab up without it. I always wondered why they didn't just put an electric heater back there rather than messing with coolant lines

An Electric heater would have been a better option in my opinion. I am not sure how I am going to tackle it yet. But I will be sure to post up my results.

When its really cold, my runner gets warm about the time im getting to work. Haha.

The rear heater option makes a big difference in these trucks. I have one with the rear heater and one with out the rear heater. It is nice having it come from the back and heats the whole truck up. I have actually thought of putting one in my 85 but it probably wont need it. The runners do need it.

Found this heater on Summit Racing. Looks like it wouldn't be to hard to adapt for a rear heater in a 4runner.

I just saw this!! Man thats nice. It has me considering building a custom console to accommodate this! Not a bad price either.

I have been all over the place lately with stuff I want to get done, stuff I need to get done, and stuff I dream about getting done.

I have 2 extra transfer cases and have really been considering going with a dual setup for my runner and making my own shafts, etc... I actually printed out the directions for the procedure off of marlins website today on my lunch break.

Who knows...

I do know that I need to stop taking on so much other work so that I can get my own stuff done!!!!!!

That is a nice find. I hear you on all of the things that need to get done. Got a few of them myself. Don't think it ever ends. My neighbor says about the same thing. Just not enough time in the day.

Had the truck On CL for a week or so. Was going to sell it since the wife wanted something else.

Thankfully we decided to hang on to it!! I am now going to kick it in gear and do some work to it that I should have done previously.
