Glad to hear you are keping it. You get the summer off? If so might be the chance you need to get somethings done on it. Misty is in the school system to and is counting down her days to summer break. I do envy her a little bit on that.
What are some of the issues on your runner that you are wanting to take care of?

I really cannot wait until Summer! I think I have it worse than the seniors. I want to get out.
There is nothing really to fix, just stuff I have been wanting to get done. Like Replace the springs, Hi-steer, finish painting the rest of it. Possibly do a Dual Cases setup or Maybe get some 4.7's for my existing setup.
Just some stuff that I have been wanting to get caught up on Like I referred to above.
How are you doing? Have you been working on or driving your Runner at all lately?

Glad you are staying busy. Are you guys getting flooded out where you are? I saw all the flooding in certain parts of Lincoln yesterday.
Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Had to do some much needed work. Especially to the rear brakes. I knew it was only a matter of time before they needed replaced. They looked crappy when I changed a wheel cylinder out 2 years ago.
It has been sitting in the shop for 2 weeks and I figured Ill tackle them while I can

I noticed that my E-brake was slowly getting more and more stretched out I figured it was due to the fact that the brakes were worn.
Well I took it up on the lift and the drivers rear tire would not spin clockwise because the brakes were hanging up.

While I am waiting on brake parts to arrive, I figured what a better time than now to finish the paint on her.
As of Friday, I have two coats on the back section.
I still need to paint the roof and hood. l was also thinking about painting the top black. I really want t soft top and In my head I think it would help hold me over if I painted the top black. Probably not. HAHA

Hey Mark, just getting caught up with your thread. I'm glad you decided to keep your 4runner! Ive contemplated selling mine a time or two lately, but then I think back to all the rigs that I have sold over the years that I had wished I'd kept, and then I come to my senses, lol. I know if I was to ever sell mine I would end up regretting it, probably more so than any other vehicle I've sold! Anyway, that's cool that your getting some paint laid down on yours, I really like that color, I wished I lived closer, I'd hire you to paint mine!!!
Man I hear ya on the soft top, I want one Sssoo bad! I may just have to settle for a bikini top for the summer, I read a thread somewhere where you can make an FJ40 bikini top fit a 4runner and its alot cheaper, fits well too!...Look forward to seeing your paint job when you're finished!

While I let the truck sit for a few weeks, the E-brake decided to hang up on the drivers side. So I decided to dig into it and see if I could not clean it up.
It was all crusty and had some calcium deposits all over it. Just nasty and frozen up.

My old wheel cylinder was leaking and is made quite the mess in there.

Here it is all cleaned up and reassembled.

I did not take any more photos of the process. I wanted to do so, but I was in a hurry to get everything back together and back on the road. I only ended up repairing the drivers side for now, as the passenger side is still working fine.
This is a really easy fix. Another reason why I love these Toyotas. You can disassemble just about anything on them and actually repair it rather than replace it.

It's taking quite some time. Come summer weather I'll finish the bodywork and hopefully engine swap too.
