Thanks buddy. It didn't seem like a lot until after I hit everything with a wire wheel and a screwdriver. Then everything broke loose. It is scary because I wash it all winter long and it's not that rusted out. Only where the seams are.

I miss working on the older motors like you posted. Ford, Chevy, Dodge were all the same, if you could work on one, you could work on them all.
I hear the new stuff they use is beet juice. It is nasty stuff and makes salt look good. I try to take the back roads when possible and spend more time washing under neath then I do the top side.

So true. The older Engines were very simple but similar. Todays engines are so complex, you need to be very very tech savvy to have a successful career.
I do the same thing. Find myself spending more time doing the bottom side of the truck than the rest of it.

Well in my rush to get things done, I reluctantly did not take as many photos during the process as I would have liked.
However, I wire wheeled out all the rust and scale, then dug out the rest with a screwdriver. Kind of scary what I uncovered for a mostly rust free, so I though, vehicle. Makes me wonder about some of the other vehicles I have owned and never pulled the carpet back.
Anyhow, I cut out and welded metal in every where I could then decided to do a top coat with fiberglass reinforced filler to seal it up. Im hoping to day to get everything prepped to lay down some bedliner.
Here are a few pics from after.

Here was one hole that I dug out with the wire wheel.

It seems as though the extra piece of metal that holds the inner fender well was holding all kinds of crap in it and had to be partially taken out. I ended up welding in a piece of 3/16's steel and then putting some filler over it to seal it. I will most likely then use some industrial undercoating that I have with a schutz gun after im all done.

Looks great and glad to see you got the rust out of it. I have seen rust just take off all at once. It can sit still for awhile but the damage it can do when it gets going.

Ok guys, here are a few more pics from the final product. And a few details about what and how I did it.

Few close ups

All back together.

So if some of you are wondering... I used the UPOL Raptor Liner. I sprayed it with the UPOL gun that you have to purchase extra with the kit. I typically use the highest psi I can through the gun to get the finest texture. I like it this way because it does not tear up your knees.
I hand sanded everything down with sand paper between 80 grit and 320 grit. I then vacuumed out all of the dust. Washed it out, then proceeded to use a Wax and Grease remover. (the one thats in a pic I posted a few back).
Let that dry, and then sprayed some adhesion promoter in areas that I found difficult to sand. waited about 15 minutes then sprayed on the liner.
I then let it setup overnight and cure before I put everything back together.
I opted to put the carpet back over the whole thing for now. Maybe if I can lay down another bottle of it later on, i might opt to leave carpet out. But for now shes covered back up.
Very very easy to use ans spray on. I want to take the front seats out and do the rest of the cab when I have more time.

Man, that turned sweet! Looks like you had it professionally done by LineX! Nice work! I like the fine texture that you were able to achieve. I've been wanting to do the lower half on my 4runner following the lower body lines and up over the front and rear fenders. Mostly for preventative measures. I don't have access to a compressor, so I was looking at Monsta-liner's DYI roll on kit. I ordered some color chip samples, and like that they have a red color tint really close to my color, but I don't care for the finish. It doesn't have that spray on texture, its more rounded' like cottage cheese texture, lol.
Look forward to hearing how it performs as a sound deadener too!

I know exactly what your an about texture. I do not like the larger rounded looking particles in other stuff. The only roll on liner that I really like is Durabak. Only downfall of it is the texture is very rough!!

Hey nice job on the liner. Did you like how it laid down because i already have it and will be putting it down soon. Also how well did you clean the floor board before you sprayed? I am wondering bc I took out all the insulation and sound deadening material because I plan to put new in but their are some scraps left behind and the only way I can get it off is with a angle grinder.
