I am getting ready to take the oil pan off and hopefully seal it back up good. I am going to let it sit for a few hours before I reinstall with the FIPG.
I have a little over 120 miles on the new engine and everything seems to still be going ok. Crossing my fingers though.
I still need to adjust the valves for the 3rd time this week. I might try and do that today as well. I have just a slight tick that Is a little louder than I really like to have.
I will post up some pictures of the oil pan removal and reinstall.

I did use factory Valve springs. I typically check the valves every oil change,(I know crazy right), but I have a shop that I teach at every day so I have time to do things like that.
I was planning on checking the valves one last time anyhow as I only have 120 miles or so on the new engine.
Thanks again for the info.

So as we were talking about rear springs the junkyard wants $150 for chevy 63s and you mentioned pro comp 4" rears were $216?? But the pro comps are in stock toyota location?? They say the chevy 63s are a way better ride which is understandable with how much longer they are eye to eye. Also i priced a install kit with shackles from low range at $199. Otherwise you make your own. KelvinB said he picked his up for $40! good deal. But i like the fact of getting a later model spring because they look nicer less mileage on what they were taken off of and also seem to use better bushings in my opinion.
Can you climb a random brokedown vehicle at the school and take a pic of it??? lol

Yeah the Pro comps are a factory replacement and I believe are probably a ˟˟˟˟ty ride. If I could get the springs and kit for around 200$ I would go that route. But Im in the same boat you are with the cost of them at the local yards around here.
I agree with getting them off a later model. Less abuse for sure. Sometimes there are a few nice rigs that show up to the yards here that look like they haven't hauled around 6000lbs in the bed for the last 15 yrs. haha
Dude I should totally drive up on the hood of the Chrysler cirrus that I am about to send to the junk yard!!!!!!!!

I say drain the oil and take it out wide open on some back country roads. When it dies, Light it on Fire.

Bahahaha I'd love to but it's still my dd unfortunately. Back in high school I had a 78 Chevy truck with a straight six and a 3 on the tree that got converted to floor shift. I beat the piss outta that thing! It never missed a lick. I never checked the oil in it, just dumped a quart in when it started chattering lol.

I've owned 2 trucks that were originally 3 on the tree bug sadly both were converted to floor shift. A 78 Chevy with a straight six and a 70 f100 with a 302. Wish I still had both. The Chevy was a beater and the ford was pretty damn nice. Even had aftermarket a/c that worked!

Hey Hey buddy. No new updates as of yet. I need to rebuild my front axle. I wanted to get to it before snow is on the ground, but I am not sure that will happen.
I still have to get those sliders welded on that I built. But finding the time lately has been challenging.
