We got a lot done yesterday. Removed the engine and tranny again, to roll the frame over and weld the cross-member support.

Had some Diamondplate 1/4" steel here at the shop that we use from time to time.
Added a support on top.

Also got the cab back down on the carts. Trying to finish up some odds and ends with the inside cab floor.

Also doing a little DSM work. Kids are Pulling the engine out of a GSX eclipse. It needs rod bearings, so we are going to do a full rebuild.

Im hoping to get the cab on today for a test fit and to see where that puts our shackle angle with the weight of the cab on.

Starting to look like a Toyota 4x4. Bet the kids were xcited to see what it can look like. I have always been intimidated by the front wheel drives. I hear they are not to bad to work on. I am slow to new technology.

Thanks Terry! He kids were pretty pumped to see it with the cab on it. We are going to have to remove it again, as we were just doing a test run on it. There are still a few odds and ends that we need to take care of before we drop her on permanently

Update # 5-27-14
Well the updates are going to be slim for a few days, as I and my cell phone took an unintended dip into a lake yesterday. HAHA
Here is what I have from last week.
Test fitting the body onto the frame to check shackle angle and see how everything lines up.

Needless to say, the kids are pretty pumped to see it looking like an actual vehicle. We still have a long way to go. Going to try and finish up the interior sections of the floor repair, prime the front fenders, weld in the front spring hanger, etc...
I am getting new shocks for my runner today and thinking about putting my old ones on this in the meantime just to have something.
I will try to get more pictures up as soon as I can get a phone or a camera.

Here's a few more

Removed the cab again to finish up things like putting the right bolts in the motor mounts and crossmember mounts.

Still need to finish welding up the front support and gusset it in a lot of places.
Also have to buy cab mount bolts and make two more mounts.
Get front bolts and nuts for the spring hanger.
2wd short bed gas tank.
Wiring harness for the cab as this one is in pretty bad shape

School is out this Thursday and I watch my boys all summer long. So it's going to be slow moving on it after that. Unless my buddy wants to take it back to his place and tinker with it. Just a lot of little odds and ends left to do.

They came along ways and fast. It is slow going when it is just down to one guy working on it. You got a lot of the big things out of the way and the kids should of learned a lot and maybe putting it to good use this summer. Sure a few will show up next year in Toyotas.

Thanks Ed. It's OD green. The kids picked the color. Its krylon flat OD green paint. Came out pretty good after all the bodywork and time they put into it.
