Update 5-8-15
So we have still been working on this project. Trying to get the last few details figured out.
We tack welded in the front shock towers and trying to figure out what length of shocks to get.

We jsut got some new tool boxes also, so I have been trying to get them setup with a better work space here.

I have been having them setup the boxes according to their needs.
This student here, is Pretty OCD. He setup this on his own. He is a great kid and I wish the others would follow his lead.

Not much Flex with these springs. They are pretty stiff at this point. I do not think that they will settle much as they are not meant for flex but rather lift.

Finally got the shock towers fully welded on, Brakes bled and now working on the Wiring. What a headache the wiring is. I had to tear the dash back down to chase it all over again.
I also have to swap the intake and carb for the newer 1988 setup so the newer wiring will match up to the truck and harness.
The seniors were done yesterday. This was the hardest group of students I have ever had. Trying to get them motivated to work, and even show up was nearly impossible. So I will be flying solo for a few more things then, I think I might have to hand the reigns over to my buddy, the owner to finish up some minor details.

I don't envy you chasing down all the wiring gremlins!
Man if I was your buddy, I would be chomping at the bit to get this truck back!!!
It will be sad to see this build end, hopefully your buddy will join Yotatech and continue to post his progress, it would be cool to see this truck in action!

Ughhh Its kicking my butt today! I am looking forward to passing the torch on it so I can put more focus back on my own Truck. I have been neglecting to do necessary maintenance to it. However, lately I have been forcing myself to do little things here and there.

Ok guys..
Having some issues with the wiring on the truck. As you know, I swapped in an 88 Harness from the 2wd truck into this 84 4wd cab. Everything was pretty straight forward. I have switched out the Alt for the newer style, swapping out the intake and Carb for the newer setup to match the engine harness.
Problem is when I put power to the truck, I have power to the Temp gauge, ansd headlights, but nothing to the ignition. I have some pics I need to post up about a harness that has no where to go under the column.

Update 6/3/15
Here are the Pictures of the wiring. The problem is that I had a student remove this harness from the 2wd 88 Months and months ago. He has since forgotten and I am having to sort this out.
Wiring mess. Like wrestling a grizzly bear.

I have power to the cab and harness, but no power to my Remote (starter) line when the key is on the start position. I have it at the Ignition switch, picks up the harness and then heads out to the cab.
Now the problem is that I have the round connector under the hood but cant figure out where to connect it.
Here it is.

I can manually put power to the Black/white wire and get it to turn over. Just cannot figure out where this connector goes.
I have everything under the dash where it is supposed to go except for one connector.
Both of these are right and where they are supposed to be.

However, this is the connector I cannot seem to figure out where it goes. I cannot find the same connector on my 4runner for a reference.

Thanks guys.

Major Brain Fart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I forgot to hook up the Starter Relay! Thats what it plugs in to!!
I guess that is what happens when you are trying to work on 15 cars at once over the last few weeks. I went through old pictures and saw it on the fender. So I started hunting for it.

It was sitting in a box of parts I have with the rest of the build stuff.

You are correct on the round plug that it is for the starter relay. Look on your 85 and you should see that same exact plug used for the wiper motor. I think it is 86 that they went to a square plug for the wiper motor.
The big square plug, it the one hanging below the dash? if so https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51724051 that is to the door buzzer box. Without it connected the dome light wont work on the drivers sided but will on the passenger side.

Update 9/30/15
We are finally back at it working on the truck. Well trying to get started at least. We still have minor odds and ends that are enough to keep us busy and frustrated.
We just swapped he Older intake out for the newer one off of the 88 2wd truck I had picked up.
It will start and run with Starting fluid, but I need to put some gas in the tank.
Here are a few pics of whats going on.

My Buddy has some parts that I am hoping to get this weekend to put on the truck. like the driveshaft, Bucket seats, key for the Gas door so we can put gas in!!

Hey Terry, I couldn't get the link to work either, I went to YouTube, copied and pasted _udsCkxnKsE from Marks post and hit the search key and the video came up.

Update 3-8-16
So We have been stalled out on this project for a while now. We have been very busy with everything else thats going on. We have been building a 48 Dodge for the World of Wheels show on the 18th of this month, and I have been trying to get our CNC Plasma Table up and Running for a new class I have to teach in the fall.
Anyhow....... I finally got the Weber Carb Kit installed on the Truck! Man does it really clean everything up on this 22r.
Now I just need to make a different bracket or modify the existing one to take the slack out of the throttle cable. And also need to run the Manual choke cable through the firewall to a good location.
Here are a few pics and a video.

Nice work on the Weber install, it really cleans up the looks of the engine bay, I bet it performs alot better too! You should post up some pics of the 48' dodge, I'm sure most of us on here would like to see what you and your students are taking to the World of Wheels show this year!
