If there was a title for it, I probably would not have purchased it. Maybe if it comes down to it and someone wants the cab, I might

Update 9-3-14
Not much going on yet with the build.
I am trying to to a little tinkering with this 2wd engine before we tear it apart.
So far there is no spark from the coil. I had a quick spark and then nothing ever since.
There is alot of goofy stuff on this vehicle. A mechanic shop in CO did the most recent work to it. Timing kit, timing cover, head gasket, etc..
But as I dig into this further, I find that none of the grounds are hooked up, wiring is not hooked up or hooked up wrong. Just little odds and ends.
I am only trying to get it running to see what the condition of the engine is.
Back to the no spark...
I swapped in a known good igniter with the same result. So I have resorted to doing the GM ignition conversion. I am in the process of wiring that up today.
Enough talk... here are some pics.
Took the tires off. My friend is bringing up some 33's on rims that he has for this truck.

Clean truck

Had the kids jumper up the other igniter since some of the connections were different.

The GM goods.

Its not my plan for this truck. I bought it specifically for the parts to use on this build. And went this route because there is no title.

Still not much going on today other than trying to get the 2wd fired up.
We sold a tire machine that we purchased a few years back. It was a real piece of junk china made rim clamp machine. I did not was to buy that exact one, but thats the way it went down with the funds that were provided to us.
Now that we are able to spend a little more money, and we really do not have any. we are somehow getting a Hunter rim clamp that I picked out. The district has really cut back on our funding district wide for applied technologies. We are slowly getting phased out.
Probably going to have to do a million car washes this school year to try and fund it.
Kind of sad.
Especially since there are so many students that need this type of course, or like building tech, woods, etc...

Update 9-4-14
Some bad news on the engine. BUt good news I guess.
Here all i thought the igniter and the coil were bad, and started to wire up the GM ignition.
I decided to see if the rotor was turning and sure enough it was not.
I pulled the VC and only to find the timing chain jumped off of the crank gear. Never saw that happen before on these engines. Explains the quick spark then absolutely nothing after.
Looks like Im going to be taking it out and trying to fix it.

I can see the problem. Looks looks like who ever did the timing kit, installed the crank gear backwards.
Causing the gear to be too close to the block. The chain looks to be at a crazy angle. As well.

Great of the PO to do that timing chain for you
And it could have been way worse

33's are on and set down. This thing is pretty stout. Can easily fit 35's.

Also got the steering box nut from Chris!! Thanks buddy. It was an IfS steering nut. Totally fit on the push pull box.
Going to try and get the bed removed from this 2wd tomorrow and set onto the truck to see how it looks.

Having to tear it down to fix someone elses screw up is bad but at least you found the issue. My wife works in the school system as well and they keep cutting back on things. Not going to be much to cut back on soon at the rate they are going. Missouri is way behind on things. When I was in school for the military, I found out how far behind we really were when competing against others from California, Texas, and Illinios. That was a wake up call for me. They seemed like they were learning college things in high school. I played sports, but very few make it into the sports world. I feel they need to emphasize more on the fields like you mentioned earlier.
Truck is looking great and looking forward to seeing the bed on.

Applied tech and schools in general are really cutting back like you said also. It really is scary.
If they take the hands on/ vocational trades away, then there will be no one going into those fields. Very sad. No one wants to listen. It's like it always falls on deaf ears, and every school wants their kids to go to a 4 year college and get an engineering degree.
While that's all fine and good, that's no reason for the vocational trades area to be forgotten about.
I can't wait to see the bed on also.

Update 9-5-14
Started removing the Bed today from the 2wd pickup. It is so nice working on a truck that has minimal rust underneath. Makes the removal that much easier.

Lots of hands to get the bed off. Surprisingly this is the lightest Toyota bed I have ever dealt with.

Here is why you NEVER EVER use a plastic bedliner.

Look whats underneath. Literally a wheel barrow full of rust inhibiting junk, mulch, dirt, leaves, etc...

Luckily underneath of all that dirt and grime, the bed was still pristine. Must have caught it just in time.

Now the best part!!! This thing looks amazing with the bed and 33's on. I want it!! Haha.
Let me know what you guys think.

Also got the hood on from the 2wd.
