Update 12-3-14
Forgot to add a picture of the bearing pressed out of the pulley

Picked up the new bearing today that they will press back in and install on the engine tomorrow.
Also making progress with the wiring. We decided to pull the entire cab harness out of the 88 2wd donor truck that I have and swap it over to the 84 cab. Everything on this 84 cab is pretty hacked up as far as wiring goes and its hard to decipher what is going on. So if we can make it easier on ourselves then thats what we are going to do.
Started pulling the harness on the 88

This is where we stopped today.

We were also dealing with this 89 supra at the moment. It is kicking out butts a little. We tore into the tranny for a clutch replacement and its being difficult.
The supra does not have the 7MGTE but rather a swapped in 1JZ twin Turbo. Now the goofy part is that the R154 trans will work but with a different bellhousing. Our problem is that the tranny does not want to drop down and clear the tunnel enough to come out. So tomorrow we are going to either slightly drop the cradle, or try and loosen the motor mounts while the crane is attached and lower it the 2" we need to get it out.

I started reading around on the forums and there are a lot of people who do not like these supras because they are a pain to work on. Im starting to see why. Haha.

Here is where I got the stove kit.>> http://www.orschelnfarmhome.com/sing...si5188967/cl1/
Eventually I want to do this>>> http://www.orschelnfarmhome.com/doub...si5188970/cl1/
I eventually want to get this for a back up for cooking if we ever lost power again. I have gas heat in the house, but my cooking stove is electric. When we lost power a few years ago, this would of been handy to have http://www.orschelnfarmhome.com/barr...si6449904/cl1/

wow fantastic build and some great info. I learned about the toyota bible which was a cool score and I also learned how happy I am that the pacific Northwest or even Southern Oregon area is fantastic for having old vehicles with little to no rust. That sure makes life easier well that is if you can find a older toyota haha. Thanks for having the patience to teach the newest toyota loving generation. Awesome stuff for sure!!

Its nice when some of the students want to stay focused and get work done. Some days are more challenging than others.

well for being kids that not to bad. I am an adult and ave found it is hard to keep me on track sometimes. Not only because some times I can't afford to stay on track and sometimes life does not allow it. Ill be checking in to see how you guys come along. I am in the process of doing the 2wd swap right now too. I have only two hands working on it and a limited budget per month so it is fairly slow going but very rewarding. I did not have the luck of having auto shop in high school which I would have been very good at I feel. I now have missed the train and am reduced to being a back yard mechanic now. Keep up the good work!!

Still here guys. Just have been busy with the holiday and a house full of sick kids at home.
We still need to get the shock hoops welded in, get shocks, wiring harness swap, and get it running. Hopefully we will have time next week. Just wanted to give you an update.

Im hoping to get some pictures up tomorrow.
I was asked by a former students dad to look at his 92 reg cab 4x4. I just discovered a badly rusted frame on the passenger side near the tank. I called him on my way home from work to inform him of this and see if he wanted to come down and asses the situation. It really stinks because the rest of the truck is fairly solid and looks pretty good.
Ill try and get a picture up of that one tomorrow also.

Mud get trapped right next to the tank is the biggest problem. Maybe it can be plated. I would check all the way to the tail gate. Sometimes it goes all the way to the tail gate.

Update: 2/5/2015
Sorry for the lack of updates on this project. Unfortunately there is not anything substantial to report. I have been dealing with quite a few troubled students. Attendance is horrible at best. Some have 15 days missed out of the 42 that we have been in session this trimester. The rest of them have missed around 10. It it very frustrating as these are the top level kids in my program.
I send them to the local GMC dealership to intern and earn a college credit. But lately, they have been leaving to go to job shadowing and conveniently disappear somewhere along the way. Then i get a call from the service manager wanting to know where they are at.
Then when they do show up, I only have two kids that will actually work. It is a battle with the rest of them to get anything done. I end up doing everything because it has to get done regardless.

I feel your frustrations with these kids. Probably a good reason as I was able to retire from the guards as I was losing patience with these kids now a days. I am sure I was a screw up when I was younger but not this bad anyways. I really feel the kids now have more oppurtunity then we had when they were younger. Now they can earn college credits for their studies. That was not available to use when we were younger and then the chance to work for a dealer? That was just unheard of. I had three family members that worked in the school system and they have the same story.
