Things have been busy for me lately. Havent got to do anything with the truck and still waiting to get my shop up. Will be glad to get it up and get the truck in there. I am hoping to start on the bed and have some finishing touches to do on the passenger door this weekend.
It looks like I have a ways to go, but I can see daylight really. Just get the drive train in and a new passenge fender and it will at least be driveable and half of the truck is pretty much done. I will be able to get the bodywork done fairly quick on the cab once I get it out of the weather.
If I can get it driveable, I could get it to my dads shop and really get going on it. The shop and weather has been the hold up on it lately, but it will get completed. I was actually hoping to get some burnt orange or tangerine color on the jams and inner fenders before the weather turned cold. Have just been busy with other things, but am really wanting to get started on this thing again.

yo
liking the new shop build thingy.
i think you guys stole our winter weather as it's been quite warm here lately. expecting a few inches of snow tonight though.
been away from the yotatech threads for a while here, so just catching up now. definitely the pics of the birth of a new shop is an OK temporary filler for pics of the truck.

I havent been on in awhile lately. Been working more then usual. Still waiting on getting the shop up. The weather we are having is slowing things down. Having to save the funds for the shop is also not helping.
Have been working on a friends truck. Was really hoping to paint it today. Just to cold and have some small things to finish on it. Am hoping for Wednesday or Thursday.
I was about to pull my hair out on some of the small flaws in it and I stayed after it that I am really happy with the results. It is a solid little truck and think it will look really sharp. Now I am just wanting to make sure I get the paint on really nice. As solid as it is, it did have lots of dings in it and for it age, was more work then I first thought, but am hoping it is my best work yet.
I was out looking at mine and now when I get the shop up, I am going to pull the cab and paint the engine bay. I was going to leave it black but just would be satisfied if I did. That is if I can get all of the black coating off.
Just didnt want you to think this build has died. Just a small bump in the road.

This is not mine but one I have been working on. Just thought I would put some pics up. I just about have it ready to paint. It is a solid truck but did have quite a few dents. The owner is going to get the bed floor blasted. So will need to finish the bed floor later.

I'm not going to lie. I'm jealous of your body repair skills. If there is any area of automotive knowledge that I lack, it would most definately be body work..
I'll make you a deal.. If you ever get a 2/3RZ I'll do your swap if you put your touches on my truck!

Finally got around to reading this build page, Terry. Once again, nothing but quality work here. I'm so glad to hear about your future shop. You've proven your love for building these trucks so often that I couldn't think of anyone who deserves a shop more than you. Cheers!

Have been busy working on my friends truck. Was going to paint it yesterday but it was rainey and just had a damp feeling in the air, so will try later today. Will post pics when done.
I think it will turn out great. I have been spending alot of time just going over small flaws trying to get as perfect as possible. If not maybe he can turn it into insurance on vandelism.lol
I get my shop up Tuesday. Wahoo!! 5 days to go. I will start on my truck again this weekend. Will start on some body work on it and hoping Tuesday I will get my truck in the shop and start getting the motor in. Thats the plans for now.

JustDSM..Thanks.. I envy your swapping skills. I have tried some motor swaps and it just doesnt turn out well for me. For the quality of work you have done on your swap, I would like to see your truck looking as good as I know as good it is going to run. I used to run thru Las Cruces alot. I like the Southwest part of the country. Nto as cold and wet as here. Why does it have to be so far away.lol
Thanks Tinman.. I have spent some time on this truck. Want to it look as nice as good as it is going to run. The drive train in it alone is more then what I tend to spend on my truck. It was rough but solid. NO RUST!! He has given me everything for my build including the truck, so I want to do it as best as I possibly can.
Thanks Dutchbelly.. I should of followed my orginal plans when getting out of high school of being in the auto field. Instead I went into the electronics field, where supposedly the money was at. It was good in its time. If I would of went auto, I could of had my own shop after 20 years, doing it day in day out, I would of one done great by now in my mind.lol Every day is a do over.
Hello dirtdobber.. I sent you a PM. Maybe you make it out to your inlaws on your Christmas break. Springfield is just up the road from me.
