I read through this entire thread and only saw one other guy that was considering going on the easy trail.. I was planning on riding that trail (I'm pretty new to the game and my 4runner is still stock
) but it looks like i'd be the only one. I definitely want to make it out and meet up with everyone from the board and do some wheelin but I just might be outta my league. I'd rather stick with the YT crowd if possible too. Would there be guys on the medium trails taking the bypasses that I could follow without getting myself into too much trouble? If there is someone I should be PMing and not posting in here i'm sorry, just let me know! Thanks guys.

johnykarate,
The Gold Mountain trail is a true medium trail but the bypasses are right next to the hard spot so you will not stray far from the group. Since you have a stock 4x4 you should be fine getting thru with us on the Gold Mountain trail. Worst case, we'll stop and help stack some rocks so you make it thru the difficult passes.
Cya there!

That sounds good to me. If a decision is made tonight, the first one there can make sure to save enough room for everyone. Me, voodoo, and toyoponov may be the first ones there.

Remember that we'll be meeting at the Discovery Center at 8am and depart at 830am so make sure you guys get your fuel all squared away prior. This event is going to be very big so we'll need to make sure we head out prior to TTORA or we'll experience some heavy traffic.
Cya all there!

Thanks Good Times, I will definitely be there then
Does anyone have a guestimate on what kind of travel times I can expect leaving from the Santa Monica area?

All the SD guys are heading up together around 1pm we have yet to make a meeting spot but I'm sure everyone will be posting up as they get off work tonight.
ACReves,
It looks like we will be able to get your bro up with me and back with Eric (ECchamberlin) would he have a way to get to Tanto's place? It seems like a safe place to leave his car and it would make things much easier seeing as I don't know how to get anywhere and Eric lives 2 blocks away so getting him back to his car wouldn't be any problem.

From SM, expect drive time in the 4 hr range. Friday traffic will be tough. There is a group meeting up in Pasadena around 10pmish I think and I will be heading out around 8pm from 60/605 interchange.
I too will be in the west side as I work by LAX so my drive will be a pleasant one

FYI: I just picked up an Adventure Pass at the Forest Service office in San Bernardino. If you are driving in on Friday and want to pick one up before you drive up the hill, they are loated north of the 10 fwy (and east of the 215 interchange) at 602 Tippecanoe Ave (accross the street from the former Norton AFB) and they are open until 4:30.

my only concern with a remote campsite is that i have a cabover camper 10foot tall and i'll be towing my rig on a 16' tandem axle trailer so wherever we end up i hope the road is good enough for me to get through or i might be camping by myself

mikey,
I think you should be fine. Not sure of course.
I know 2N09 to 3N16 should be a walk in the park but once off the main road to 3N32 it may become a challenge. I'm not sure the exact location of the campsite but it looks to be by the 3N16 and 3N32 junction. I'm going to check the details tonight at home so hopefully I'll be able to post some results back then. In the meantime lets hope others can chime in.

How close is the proposed spot to the TTORA spot?
Hey Mikey, my daughter wants to know if Alex and Curran are going. I told her they always do, but she keeps asking.
She said she is bringing her own squirtgun this time so she isn't an easy target!

Jony and any others that want to leave out Friday MORNING, Slosurfer, Toyopnoy and I are planned to join and head out from near the 210/605 at 10:30AM-ish.
Im setting up to meet Toyo.. at 10am-ish at a 7-11 off Fremont ave exit of the 10 where the 710/10 junction and off to intercept SloSurfer and any others.
PM SloSurfer or me if you are going to be in those areas at that time.
