Hmmm, what broken on my 4runner?!?! I have 2 warn (bad) CV axles, I have a front main seal leak, Um 2 holes from rust on the back wheel well, broken antenna. Sometimes (at higher speeds) it will stall and start right back up on its own, Do you guys think it would be a bad EGR? Just replaced my Parking Brake Cable and Clutch that was almost $900. And I think that may be it for my problems lol

'87 4runner
gas gauge, oil gauge dont work
rear window responds to nothing
when i turn on the brights... it turns the lights off instead (Brights work when i flash though!)
charging system has a problem i cant find

driver window is stripped and hardly works,
passenger window hardly works
rear driver seat has the dropdown knob missing
rear springs are flat
everytime i hit a bump i hear a terrible like.. screeching, rattling, knocking.... something sound comming from the rear end.. has something to do with the frame i think, super annoying.
Both of them have a weird tick when im driving, the 90 has one tick and the 87 sounds like a miniture machine gun when i give it gas.

1984 ext cab 4x4
mine was bad. a lot better now. when i got it. no radio. rust holes in bed and tail gate. dents in lower rear of bed. the engine that i have now replaced as of last weekend had a cracked head. leaked out all exhaust ports. leaked out cat. 2 bolts missing on intake. sloppy wiring inside. wing window on pas. side makes a whistle. core support was bent so light pointed weird. wipers were shot. windshield trim was screwed. hood rubbed very badly on cowl was loud to open plus hood is trashed was dif color anyways. windows didnt roll up well. play in steering wheel. front and rear springs are basically flat fronts are worst. shock arnt great.3 same rims 1 dif. messed up purple tint.trashed throttle cable front brakes arnt great when i hit them firmly back on skid. clutch had some life left but wasnt great.
what i have done:
tinted windows back are limo tint.
put brand new engine bored .30 over
installed hedman hedders
flowmaster 40 new exhaust all the way back
sound system and new deck.
sr5 clock added
tiltometer/altimeter installed
bought new dash set up and died it to feel like almost like a soft leather like in new suburbans was a better gray color too.
added sr5 dash cluster
added glove box light
sr5 buckets out of a 95 runner
painted frame and axels
undercoat
basically h.i.d.s
new wipers
black rock crawler rims
new clutch
new slave cylinder
painted whole engine bay flat black
new radiator
new battery
new alternator
new voltage regulator
smoked rear tail lights
line-x in bed
new tail gate
new hood
fixed bed rust
new white paint
new headlight housings(vision x)
put new door pins on
electric locks
blue l.e.d in dome light
vision x l.e.d lights under seat to see so i dont ruin night vision when im driving at night
new throttle cable
tilt column
center console
rebuilt webber carb
bypassed all emission properly not sloppy
fixed electrical gremlin that caused it to not get spark randomly

numerous new bolts and nuts
all i can think of right now i put alot of work into a turd dont feel bad about your rigs

The exit on the muffler was also broken, it was nice and wobbly when I pulled the exhaust string out.
Nice throaty sound with the magnaflow muffler.

Well, let's see.....
*I went from 128k to 268k without a SINGLE motor repair. BUT...lol....
*Now, in the last year, I've lost THE ORIGINAL starter, water pump, alternator, 02 sensor, AC clutch, Muffler, Cruise Control button broke, clutch slave cylinder, leaks a bit(From the seals, I believe), 4runner sag in rear getting bad(feels like a hard tail hog) and a few other things.
It had been running like crap once it warmed up, for weeks, .....replaced the O2 sensor, ....now it runs like crap when cold, but it runs fine when warmed up. WTH?
I've never tested a single sensor, injector, etc.....guess it's time to start doing the P.O.E., eh?

Seeing all these rich kids at school with brand new cars is getting me depressed lately. I love my 4Runner but I also would love for it to work 100%. So far I have these issues to deal with...
-Major rust hole on rear passenger door
-Rust spot on rear driver door
-Rear driver door will not open at all
-Rear passenger door window goes down when I hit a bump
-Rear window won't budge
-Both rear bumpstops have detached
-Bumpers need painted
-Console lid is hanging on by a thread

-Spare tire is stuck

-reverse lights stick on and only seem to do it when a cop is behind me at night....I really should investigate why and I will...someday.
-it's getting a tiny bit of air in the clutch slave cylinder...I just pump her up before starting it and it's fine tho'
-belt is off the A/C and summer is coming.

hmmm exhaust is broken off a foot before the muffler the windshields cracked my adjustment pully screams like a banshee its covered in dents and im pretty sure my frames a bit tweaked in more than a spot or two but not bad. my o2 sensor harness is torn. so what? thats means its only in good condition not excellent on kbb right?...shucks. not that i will EVER sell my truck. hopefully when im 90 and still driving it when its been extremely built for many years ill crash it and my death will result with my trucks as well? now that would be the ultimate.

I just picked mine up from the dealer...had the Selective Service Campaign for the Steering Relay Rod Replacement completed......also had the right idler arm and tie rod ends done.....drives so much better now!

I pulled the rear drive shaft off my truck last week and noticed as I put it in the shop when I move the weight would change from one end to the other. Damn thing is half full of water. Got another driveshaft out of the parts truck and I have no vibration problems anymore. And to think I took it to the shop 3 times to have the wheels checked and to see if I bent something.
