*cig. lighter (the plastic pieces exploded - I just bypassed and popped a new one in elsewhere - What to do with the hole that is 78/100" or so wide?
*a/c dash vent (2/4 are broke inside - the louvers fell out)
*cupholders front and rear (there's something Americans just do better..maybe this is it)
*leather seat busted out to the left of my arse
*that little piece that covers the tab for when your transmission needs to get overwridden with a screwdriver to shift into D when it get stuck - it's lost
*the lights to 1/2 my stereo don't work - haven't in 6 years and 150k
*the stereo rejects CDs - just spits 'em out.
*the lumbar support button pops out a lot.
*my battery hold downs look a lot like a bungie cord... a lot.
Other than that, I'm in good shape for 240K

no seat belts
no rear wiper with no motor for it
sunroof bracket broke
oil leaks in transmission
back door wont open
driver side door cant lock
4wd wont work right
check engine light is on
rear anti theft light is on
steering column rod is broken
gas leaks by gas tank hose
the window roller is stripped so i have to use pliers to roll the window down
all this will be fixed soon on my 85 runner

 

mine has dead aircon, oil leaks, is rusting already, broken car bra, window rollers not functional anymore, and dying shocks.. the tire's quite okay though.

 

i have that same tick if you find out let me know and ill do the same

 

A/C and my oil cooler leaks, and have a busted ball joint right now too. Other than that, she's great at 202k

Oh yeah, front right CV boot is torn, Windshield is busted, but today has been productive.

Got two upper ball joints, scheduled windshield for replacement tomorrow, and got the O-rings for the oil cooler at Toyota this morning for 11 bucks with my military discount

-rear pinion seal is leaking
-t-case output seal is leaking
-front cv-to-diff flange on both sides are leaking.
-front main oil seal
-burning oil I think (only reasonable explanation for oil loss, even though it hasnt lost any in a week)
-rear window comes off track 60% of the time when its going up or down. I know whats wrong, but I can't seem to get it to stay together
-passenger's side front suspension is about 1/2" or more higher than the drivers.
-weird starting problem, really random.
-massive blow-by build-up in the intake (taking care of that today)
-slight piston slap on cold start ups.

 

REAR BRAKEZ KEEP LOCKING UP......when i am at a stop, Rear brakez lock up until i gas it enough to "POP" them loose. When i am slowing to a stop they lock up in the last 2-5 feet!! gettin pretty annoying! I'm guessing it'z related to the E-brake. my buddy fixed it several monthz ago.....but it'z started acting up again!....Any ideaz??

 

My recently acquired 275k mile '94 4Runner has an engine knock, the rear window switch doesn't work (though works with the key), CD changer missing and the left front CV axle is bad...

 

sometimes calipers get sticky, you may just need to get them rebuilt/replaced.

Bed and drivers front fender have been bondo patched, not too bad but not as smooth as I woulda done it.
Passenger side headlight has been rigged with screws and washers.
Battery tray is rusted about half out.
Some trim on the climate control is messed up.
One front marker is missing the light guts.
Drivers side window has a scratched area in the middle.
Drivers side window outer weather seal is gone.
Most of A/C is gone.
Most of emissions control is bad.
Mirrors are slightly mis-matched.
Carpet is the wrong color.
Shifter boot trim is missing.
The climate control vent linkage has a broken rod that turns heat to the floor.
Paint is a red-necked garage job.
Rear bumper don't quite fit, wrong brackets.
Engine smokes a little and ticks a lot.
Transfer case leaks a little out of the rear seal.
Passenger side frame has a few rotten holes near the bottom under the cab mount.
Passenger side wiper arm is set a little high at resting position.
Front tires are mismatched tread pattern and only about 15% tread left.
Rear tires are 60% tread left but are deadly recalled Firestones.

I may have forgotten to list a few things.

This truck is a real gem

The list of what is not "broke" would be shorter.

 

QUESTION : doez anyone have a ventvisor (one) for the front passenger side on a 3rd gen 4runner? mine broke...and i need only that one....kinda frusterating.

Update: fixed rear defroster on 4runner today, works great!

 

Oh dang....where to start lol

well for starters when i bought the truck i had to put a new fuel filter, fuel pump, and main relay to get it runnin (bout $200). then i had to buy a TPS (bout $165) bc it was idlin horrible. then put exhauston it ($20...helps when yer buddy works at a muffler shop lol). then i had to get a slave cylinder (bout $15) so i could actually get the truck into gear and drive it.

sooo....NOW....1. the dim lights don't work 2. it doesn't have a radio bc the wirin for the radio is a big cluster 3. one of the reverse lights is out 4. need a new battery 5. needs alignment 6. tires need to be balanced 7. need to redo the rear bumper and raise it up to give me more clearance in the back 8. #4 cylinder is leakin out where the spark plug screws in 9. the antenna is broke...but apparently that's an easy fix 10. there's some clangin sound when i hit a bump 11. parkin break doesn't work

......aaaaand i think that bout covers it lol

 

Hey im new to this forum, i just bought a 2000 4runner LT, and the auto door lock doesnt work, on both the remote and the switch inside. It unlocks but just wont lock, have to lock it manually. Ive been doing some searching, and it seems like alot of people are having the same problem, and noone found a solution. Im thinking it could be a bad connection, and dont know where to look. Please help!!!!
