The only thing on mine broken is:
-there is one lug nut missing from front driver tire
-there is no caddy convertor (just welded pipe)
-my front diff leaks (but 4WD works like new)
-leak out the back of transfer case(like a drop every 2 weeks lol)
-AC/Heater has a short in the switch
-other than that nothing i'm pretty grateful

My horn. I thought it just didn't work, until it starting going off randomly during left turns. So I snipped it. Not high on my list of priorities at the moment.

Inside power window switch for the rear window. Worked a couple times, but is sporadic.

Something is broken in my front drive line, but only enough to make noise. Will have a new drive shaft sometime soon to replace it.

my radiator!!!!! was leaking tran fluid internally

plan was to reroute tran lines through aux cooler exclusively, in that process the radiator fell apart (tran nipple on bottom) requiring a flat-tow to a friend's house/shop (progressive road-side), new radiator (express shipped overnight), along with a case of ATF to flush out tran, and flush of coolant...

most un-cool mods ever (still in process, currently sitting, dead, in front of garage, dropped off by tow service, waiting for radiator tomorrow and all the other goodies) there goes $300-400+ on a "simple" issue

My rig is 100% go.

As far as the students at your school driving new rigs, don't worry about that stuff. FInd a nice girl to take four wheeling and scratch your truck up a little more. She'll love it and think your truck is the deal. I have never met a girl who didn't like to go off road. As for the guy in the land rover stuck behind you, he's gonna be grounded when his parents see what he did to their $40000 vehicle. Enjoy School and just fix whats broke.

I'm going to be taking most of it apart when I install my tach and realign my steering wheel, so I'll have to check the connection for the horn while I'm at it.

Lol... X2
I have found a nice girl, and she also has a lifted rig on 33's (Jeep TJ (Wrangler)), even though "it's a Jeep" it's an awesome vehicle that can just do a lot more (due to size/inherent nature/design that it's a Jeep) until you compare streetability/ride comfort with same lift/offroad characteristics. The 4Runner is better on road (primary use, why I bought it) and only a few steps behind in raw offroad capability... (due to size and IFS mostly)

My 83 Short box Pickup has seen better days, a work in progress though.

- frame is rotten(patched and fixed)
- floors have rust holes (not to bad)
- battery tray is rusting out
- box is long gone but im working on one, flat deck for now.
- vinyl floor/carpet is long gone(someone just ripped most of it out)
- rear pinion seal is leaking very slowly
- radiator drain plug/tube is leaky
- loose wires here and there under the hood
- missing heater duct, need to make a j-yard run
- dash pad is cracked
- drivers side seat vinyl on the side is torn(not bad though!)
- door panels are ugly, dash insert is a bit hacked up
- tires need balancing(serious death wobble, they are ltb's after all)

Pretty soon im going to swap everything over to my new frame, fix the floors and battery tray, finish the box and replace the tires with something a little more road worthy because it is my daily driver..thinking about doing something different with the suspension too.

where to start

so my list of broke wasnt too bad until tonight...

Brakes lines shot - drove to the climbing gym fine, came out 3 hours later and all my brake fluid is gone and leaking out from the front somewhere(waiting for morning to go poking around)

exhaust fell off. It fell off. It fell the f....ck off!

Rear window operates intermittently

passenger door lock doesnt lock with the drivers side master switch

vibrates and rattles like hell

basically, things are dropping off and breaking and failing ever since I mentioned that I was looking to sell the thing within earshot of it; I think it hates me now....

My broken list:

Electric door mirrors not working ( cost unknown )

Drivers electric window faulty ( cost unknown)

Starter motor needs overhaul (cost $300 )

exhaust broken off, needs full replacement ( cost $500)

Fuel pump leaking ( needs overhaul, cost $2000)

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I sure there'll be more soon.

dash pad is cracked, the electrical system is a nightmare, the passenger window roller is broken(the round part, you put the round thing in the arm, and you have to use both hands, one holding the round thing, one holding the arm, to get the window up or down), the rims' powdercoat is nearly gone, needs a new clutch, couple freezeplugs are leaking, have a very minor exhaust leak, my 4x4 indicator doesnt work(havent been able to hook up the light) seatbelt light doesnt work, E-Brake light works but doesnt turn off. other than that i cant think of anything else. OH, and its IFS. other than that, nothing.

Well, let's start with the most irritating - the windshield has a crack ALL the way across right at eye level. It started with 2 stone chips in the same day, then a week later it was really cold, and I had the heat on and, yeah...my windshield is now two pieces.

My hood needs repainted...
My A/C has never worked, but that's what windows are for...
And the back passenger can't roll their own window down, but they can roll it up! I need to replace the switch.

Leaks oil from everything but the axles
Clutch MC leaks
Drivers seat mount is pulling away from the floor
Bed side is growing even more rust
Horn doesn't work even after fixing the pin (with a .22LR brass)
No front drive shaft at the moment
Rear u-joints and slip yoke wiggle so it vibrates at 10, 45, 55 and 62 mpg
Right side X-cab window leaks
No key for the passenger side door (got one made for the drivers side, turns out pass. doesn't match)
Tail gate latch mechanism will randomly come apart once in a while
Grille is cracking apart
I broke my door speaker grille in a fit of rage after it wouldn't go on (frisbee'd it against the rocker panel), goes on easier now.
I think that's most of it.

Antenna crapped out on me yesterday. The motor still runs when I turn on and off the radio, but the antenna no longer moves and now will only go down half way when I push it down by hand.

Don't worry about those rich kids. They will never experience what you have with your trusty old yota. I can def relate about being pissed off about it though. I deal with the same everyday.

My 82 longbed needs:
-A/C work
-better suspension
-power steering
-a paint job
-headlight bezels
-a new tailgate
-front passenger side structural repair (wreck)
-shifter work
-new carpet
-manual windows fixed
-more room (single cab)
-a back seat
-could prob use an axle/trans/t-case overhaul

There is probably more that didn't come to mind...
