So............ , then my Rumor2 wont cut it? hahahahaha. Anyway.... I went by my TomTom.... and he tells me when I'm speeding, how far I'm going/have gone... HE'S INTRUSIVE, I wanna punch him in the face!.............. But, ....then I need him around, too, as a mile counting/speed watching buddy! It's a love hate relationship... OH, and that witch, Susan... OMGOSH, she can be really annoying! "Get in the left lane and stay to the left"..... ON A 6 LANE HIGHWAY... really?(I mute her... don't tell her, k?) Meh... They're annoying, yep, but I TOLERATE them cuz they help me find places without having to ask someone for directions! ............heehee... Just messin.....

Shopping for a phone right now(or should I say "YOUR LIFE IN A HANDHELD"?) haha.

Ok, any 22R-E's with like 37-39's and 5.29's in the house?! I have here a '86 on 38's and 5.29's, no speedo no gas gauge. I drove it yesterday on a gallon of gas almost, tenths from it. I drove it off today and it was 9 miles on road, but couldn't drive off road. I'm guessing a drove like 2 off road with 4wd. That puts my Toyota at like 11-12 average at like 60-40 highway and town. That's not bad but not good lol. It's also a big Yota with a tiny engine. Anyone have more accurate numbers on a rig this size?

I'm starting to think there's a common issue that many of these have.... Something that effects mileage in interesting ways. Mine, I'm thinking, is more so due to driving conditions around me(TERRIBLE traffic for miles... Sea of Red lights... Lots of steep hills/stop lights, etc.... I basically sit idling 80% more than I'm driving? hahaha).... Which leaves me with 12-14City(sometimes 17mpg if I grandma it and take routes with no traffic and very lil stops).... to 20-24mpg HWY.... I mean, 12-24 mininum to maximum seems extreme to me... But when I consider all the variables... I guess it's not that unusual. I STILL think I'm rich at idle and that's costing me lower numbers in town/traffic. Just no time to fish on that just yet.

For you guys.... above... That's pretty bad. If you TRULY stay off the skinny pedal and don't have TERRIBLE traffic/hills, etc... something must be up.

1. Do you have 38's or something, JMC? (Looks pretty stock, that's why I ask)... and which motor?(Sorry, forgot)

2. Same to you, Backcountry.... Which gears, tires, etc.... OH, and which motor?(The one you're about to have rebuilt ??? )

Took this shot while filling up at a Shell station yesterday, just to prove my mileage. After correcting the miles due to the larger tires, my total miles came to 321.25. The fuel light hadn't even come on yet, so I probably could've driven another day. It took 16.09 gallons, bringing the average fuel mileage to 19.96 MPG. Keep in mind that I have the 3VZE...

Holy crap, that sucks that a lot for you guys are getting horrible mileage. I think I've broken into the 20mpg club by now, but the first month or two of having my 4Runner I was averaging 19.9 then 19.7 then 19.980 and so on. I drive normal and often go wide open throttle for climbing hills, freeway, blocking in people in traffic, ect... Even driving to the beach loaded down with 2 passengers and the AC blowing I didn't dip below 18.... Magical I tell you! Big improvement over my 83 solid axle

1986 4Runner 5-speed 22RE
And its white... paint color always makes a difference in MPG

Just drove my '90 from Springfield, OR to Shasta Lake, CA and back doing 80-85mph the whole way (except the grades). Averaged 16mpg. I can get as good as 20mpg doing 55, but 16 doing 80+ isn't bad!
