Post your GAS MILEAGE!!

1994 4runner 3.0 auto. 31.50 bfg's 120,000k
17mpg mixed driving, lead foot at times.
Just replaced head gaskets, and everything that goes along with that.
New factory toyota plug wires, plugs, vacuum switch, oil filter.
Purolator air filter, casterol synthetic oil (toyota oil filter).
Drivers side cam timing was retarded by one tooth. Had one bad exhaust valve on pass side head, so low compression in that cyl. Head gasket failed on that side, front cyl. Driver side gasket looked to be failing at back cyl.
Dealer didnt replace headbolts when doing the previous head gaskets under recall back at 60k, not sure why?
Code 25/26 too rich/too lean also went away after all this work, so I'm guessing it was from the cam timing being off.
This thing was such a dog before, really I have no gripes about the 3.0 being that underpowered now. Its no rocket, but does everything I want it to do.
I could barely go 70mph @ WOT before, now I can coast at 90mph barely on the gas...lol This thing takes hills fine.
Could barely get 100 miles out of a full tank before, now its about 250 and I bet I could stretch it farther with more conservative driving.

Apparent 40k 3.0 engine swapped in. Required a mini rebuild ended up cleaning out the inkate mani, plenum and throttle body.
From my move from Cali to Colorado PACKED, i actually managed 17mpg average. Rolling on wornish 31s. Pretty amazing i say.
In Cali it was around 14-16 mixed. Here in Colo it's about 12-13 mostly highways. The hills and 75mph highways are killing me.

94 xtra cab with the 3.0 and 5spd. 32x11.5 tires, no lift. Oil leaks.
When driving is >75% highway: 18-19 mpg. I drive it like a grandma on the highway. Pass big rigs slowly enough to read a full page of a book, if they held one up.
When mixed, probably around 15.
When mostly city, or on back roads: 10-14. Depends.
The worst I've gotten was all on forgotten roads in the desert in the summer, and that was bout 10 mpg.

Good news! I found that the wire going from the coil pack to the cap had so much corrosion or something that the resistance was 60kOhms! Fixed that, changed the oil, and changed the diff fluid.
Was getting around 15-16 on the highway (75MPH, 4 people and all their luggage from college), now I'm getting 18.67!
Made me pretty damn happy, haha.

I have typically gotten 15 - 16 mpg around town. Over the past 6 months I have replaced the spark plugs, rotor, cap and wires, installed manual hubs to free up the front end and done the ISR mod. My cat went out last week so I only have a muffler on currently.
I took a road trip to Boone, NC last weekend, mostly interstate but some city miles through JC and Elizabethton, also up and down some significant climbs.
I have NEVER gotten 300 miles out of a tank before, but this time I rolled back into Knoxville after 310 miles with a quarter tank left!!!!
Just filled up, put in 15.9 gallons, the trip odometer was at 359.1 (drum roll please........) that is 22.58 MPG!!!
I recently picked up a set of Thorley headers to install once the weather warms up reliably, so my mpg could still improve a bit more

just make sure your engine is hot, when you do the treatments. wait at least 15 mins, before you restart, blow all the stuff out with hi up and down revving for about 5 minutes, and do 2 treatments in a row 6 ounces each time, throw the rest of the can in the gas tank.
Anyways, on 31's I got 10 mpg in winter (super cold winter)
After sea-foaming and 35's, I'm still getting 10 mpg but it's spring now.
So between the seafoam and spring I put on 35's without affecting my fuel mileage!

wow amazing, 22.58...
I have hubs on the way so i'm hoping that'll boost my mileage. Would a cat really make that much of a difference? I gotta look into this ISR mod.
The time before last i managed 15.xx miles per gallon. I added oil to my differential and transfercase. Turned out i overfilled it as it was spewing out of the transmission ha. So kinda new fluid in there.
This last time was i think mid 17s. Properly inflated my tires. I had a random set of numbers going. 50, 40 30 and my spare was at 20. ha! (i'm stripping and clearcoating my rims so my small spare is rotating through) Got them all to 40. I also decided to put some Lucas gasoling treatment.
The final day there was a heavy snow storm so i had to run around in 4wd. Otherwise i think i'd have maybe made it to 250 maybe even 260 on a tank.
My tires at this point are on the verge of balding as well. I'll be picking up new tires shortly. Not sure what i'm going with. Maybe stick with Toyo's or take a plunge with TKO's...
Recommendations?

My average speed on the interstate was 70 mph (thanks to cruise control), and that portion of the trip represents about 200 of the 359 total miles. The other 159 miles was in town, stop and go, up and down western NC hills on pavement.
My tires are Michelin LTX, about half used up. All set to 35 psi prior to the trip.
I still can't believe it, maybe I had a tailwind going uphill to Boone, and the return trip was mostly downhill. I doubt I will continue to see 22 mpg around town, but am hopeful I am realizing some improved economy in a 17 year old 3vze.

my old rears were LTXs. I really don't recall the mileage. I had some random knobby front tires. I think it was at 15 mpg in town. I wonder if putting new grease the shafts and joints would help out. I'm interested in seeing improvements with new tires and yeah i'll be greasing up soon.
I'm jealous of my lady's 27mpg Honda here.

wrenching joe; if that is a 6cyl, and a 4x4, whether it is standard or auto, that is excellent I must say. Also what is your tire size, and are they radials, or a/t's? Because if they are a/t's, that is even more excellent...

Rangerruck, it is indeed a 3.0 liter 6 cyl. 3vze, 4x4, with the 5 speed manual transmission. The Michelin LTX's are standard m/s rated radials (not all terrain) in the factory size 225/75/R15. Crazy huh.

my 86 4runner 22re 5spd w/ 33's, 4.88, 3" body lift gets about 20 hwy/city commute, my new 93 4runner 22re 5spd w/ 31's stock height was getting about 15 but since I upgraded the plugs, wires, air filter it's climbing up to 18-20. Still working on getting it timed and dialed in. Oil change w/ some Lucas Stabilizer and fuel filter should be about all it gets for now. I guess if I spent the extra 25 cents more a gallon for premium gas I might be better off.
