I installed an auto dimming mirror that helps me maintain my lazy status. It was in a bin full of rearview mirrors at the local yard for 7 bucks with the plug and @8"s of wire. Did some searching on the interweb and figured out how to wire it in. I have an 86 SR5 Runner with the map lights so the power was right there. Picked up some window adhesive from the local parts store and presto. The mirror is a bit larger than stock also which is nicer than I woould have thought.
Anybody know of a good salvage yard in NW Washington? Only one near me, 30 minutes, and it's not very big. Like most, the yota trucks are often cleaned as they are put in place.
Went today and nabbed two of the retractable underhood lights from an 80's suburban. Gonna convert em to led and put one on the back of the runner and one under the hood. I'm done with crappy flash lights.

V6 calipers from a 1993 runner....also the booster and master....added rear shoulder belts from a second gen....power driver seat from a solara.....center console from a 02 camry with cup holders!!! also an overhead console from a late 90's Yukon with homelink....and a rearview mirror from a late 90's gmc 1500 with compass and temp and auto dimming
I'm sure other guys have thought of this but junk yard mods on my truck are Scion tc fog light switches. They fit into the factory holes in the dashes of our trucks. I plan on using them to run auxiliary lights. They look so much better than clunky toggle switches. Also snagged a power antenna from 94 sr5 4 runner. I plan on running it with a manual switch so when I'm about to get on the trail I can lower it. Also snagged early 90's Chevy caprice license plate frame. It's on hinges so I was thinking of tucking my hitch up as it hits sometimes.

If you are looking for a nice set of sealed relays you can find some on 2nd Gen Blazers/Jimmys on the passenger side of the firewall. I found some that had Bosch and some that had Hella. Good mounting bracket too.
Next week; Leather seats from VW Passat. Not sure I'll demand the heated ones, but I gotta do something about my current 'flat as pancake' originals in my 1994 pickup.

Nice! Tnx for the tip.
May we know what current rating?
Do the pins look same as "common" all -purpose automotive relay?
pins 30, 87, (87a), 85, 86?

SPDT 12v 40amp. Same 5 pins but different size. I think ISO 280. The layout is also different but labeled.
Here is and un-skirted relay with same pin-out.
