wow two days in a row of off road, awesome! on the way to Buells Orchards. I have been checking this area out on Google maps for some fishing and have not been out there in years. There used to be a little bit of wheeling to be had just off of the main dirt roads but one of the dirt roads turned into something to actually lock in the hubs for.

That was a cool car for sure! I did see one with the horns right in my town a few years back just cruising around.
another cool ride.. we drive by this place often . Turns out it's a VW guy I know. My son recognized the IH from the YouTube video we saw about him picking it up. I found this video of them getting it going.
I watch Jay’s videos too. That Scout was free but is really rough. Still runs though!
what town is that?
that's in Stafford. I think he may live out near Eastford but maybe I was wrong. He's a real nice guy. He picked up a real low mileage 66 beetle recently that I have know of for a long time. That Scout though really shocked me how clean the engine was.
Oh, now i remember hearing race cars in the background of one of his videos from that shop and guessed he was near Stafford. I would think a shop like that would be very desirable near the track.
Ahhh a few more days of top off cruising to be had. Tomorrow I plan on putting the hard top back on. Currently totally top off. I've got a few things I plan on fixing for the soft top.

Well I guess it's official, summer is over.
Also I'm working on replacing the rear window trim/scraper. I painted the top of the tailgate with some rust encapsulator and covered that with some paint.
originally I was hoping to paint the entire tailgate but Im not going to have time and the weather, like last fall is just too humid for anything like that.
NOoooooooooo! 😩
i think i’ve still got a few weeks left before i have to put the hard top back on.
Have to make it to the Larz Anderson museum Japanese car day in safari mode on 10/17 at least!

I was looking at that show at Larz. We've been a few times with Herbie. Nice place. Yeah lately we were running with the soft top because it was starting to get cold. I'm the only one who would ride back there😆

Yup. The tops go back on, summer's over.
Applies to the women at the beach, too. Tops go on, summer's over. A very sad day indeed.
Good job on the scraper, btw. Looks like it came from the factory.

Have fun, all!

And that is why we never go to the beach in the winter!
Yeah I don't know if that window scraper changed over the years but the old one didnot go all the way across and I think it should maybe" there’s shrinkage "
Definitely "shrinkage is a problem, especially in winter. Cold it gets, worse the shrinkage problem. I've found, at least.
Seriously, though, if the scraper didn't go all the way across, it sounds like it got brittle over the years of UV exposure, and part broke off. Mine still goes all the way. Across, that is.
Biggest trouble it has is when there's frost, or frozen water on the window. Regular ol snow, it works great.
The corners seem to be a bit of trouble, too, but I expected that, the way is fits together.
We took the 4runner on a leaf peeping and antiquing trip. We started out on Mohawk Trail at an antique shop we have passed a few times then to Southern Vermont from the west side of Vermont to the Eastern side around Brattleboro. Look , another old yota! We did a lot of traveling by dirt road but I really thought Google maps was nuts on this one!
We also found som new dirt roads we have been by several times and they were a nice easy way to bypass Brattleboro and traffic!
