That is the same Jeep. I didn’t catch the name of the company but it would appear they build to order.

cool! There is a reason behind the numbers as well so we saw the same one.

I forgot to add that this time the 4runner was well liked! As soon as I jumped out this guy walked up to me and and was really liking the truck. Then a young guy maybe 20 or so was going around it looking very closely at everything. then an offer to sell it before we left. Ha ha usually it was received with a bad attitude and nobody taked to us.

We get some compliments, people dig it, want to know what it is, ask if i cut the top off, have not seen one since 19 blah blah blah, yell to us in traffic, call it a unicorn. Some people just about jump outta their skin, though. The last guy said as we were leaving, “I KNOW it’s from down south but how original is the body?!” I said, “Yes, South Korea, and all the original panels.” 😁

maybe last time at Mark's Cruise night people didn't like that configuration. Top photo was taken in 2019.

This weeks adventures with the 4runner, tailgating nearby one our pizza spots. Luckily there is a parking garage with free 2 hour parking.

Since its wasn't supposed to rain till after two we decided to put the top on at a gas station on the way. Some wet substance that was coming out of clouds was getting us wet in the back seat. Seems the weather didn't know about that weather report 😕 lol.

That pizza looks yummy! I've got to go to the store and pick up a Boboli crust, and all the goodies to go on it now. Time for another Bernard Pizza creation! See what you did???

Personally, I love a rainy day. The smell of the freshly wetted soil, and all the plants, is just awesome. Having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was sure no stranger to fog. Always enjoyed walking around in the redwood trees in Woodside, when they existed, when it was foggy. Almost all the trees are gone now, cut down so the Silicon Valley rich could build their unneeded mansions. Grrr...
Apparently the clouds didn't listen to the weather forecast. Silly clouds. Looks like you top has a slight leak to it, though. That roll bar has drippy-drops all along it. Can I suggest a towel, or maybe an umbrella, for the folks in the back seat? Just a thought.

Keep enjoying your 4Runner, rain or shine
Pat☺

Yeah we got soaked before putting the top on. I hate to do it then have the sun come out. It needed to dry off.

That sucks about the trees gone! That's one of my biggest complaints especially with this area. There really isn't any legal places to take the 4runner off road around here anymore. The Forrest is too fragile and it will cause erosion. I get all that but when it comes to development, anything goes. They claim to rebuild wet lands but I don't buy it.

Anyhow enough of that now to hurricane prepping. Henri is due to make its way through tonight.

my modifications to the screen porch are hopefully going to save us from the leaking top. The cab to top seal isn't 100 percent so I figured it isn't going to handle 3 to 6 inches of rain that is predicted. I came up with the idea back when rebuilding the 4runner engine. I was able to take one of the two beetles out of the one car garage and put it on the porch back then.

With that much rain blowing around, beware of water intrusion into the engine compartment, in the driver's side rear corner, around the windscreen, and from the drain channel above the door. Be especially cautious about the area above and around the ECU, and the fuse block over on the driver's side, behind the kick panel. That in particular seems to get water in, if you're not careful.

Other than all that, enjoy the rainy day(s) headed your way I hope you have the Zodiacs ready to inflate for evac, if necessary.

Seriously, be careful, and take care of yourself and your family. I've only had to deal with one tropical storm/hurricane, down there in Yuma many years ago. The biggest threat was the wind, even with Yuma only a few feet above sea level.

Have fun!

funny you should mention the ECU. I wrapped it in plastic long ago because of all the areas you mentioned were sections that needed attention when we got the 4runner. Both sides of the inner Cowell were rusted out and now rebuilt. My idea of capping the vents just under the windshield though was bad. One cover got sucked in by the blower.

The hurricane turned into a tropical storm after it made land fall in Rhode Island but didn't cause much damage this far inland. Lots of rain maybe 3 inches. Last weeks micro burst was worse.

We really need a break from the heavy rain here. We got 4 inches more last night. Another hurricane rolled through, Ida turned into tropical storm. No problems with the tent though.

Since it was the first time in a long time that we got sunny weather on a day that I had off, my son and I took the 4runner to a great trail in East Granby CT. the Metacomet trail.

Well these roads weren't flooded out after all the rain we have been getting lately. Just a little wetter than usual.

Too bad they're such well drained roads. It's FUN blasting through a good puddle. It the bottom is mud, it's even better!

Oh well. Looks like you can get a little dirt spread around on your truck, anyway.
Beautiful countryside, at the very least. Looks like a fun trail to run.

Enjoy!

Isn't funny how them dirt roads are better with drainage versus around town?

keep building, its ok😉

Its funny though this road in the photo is where I first tested the scuba mod on the FJ in November of 08. I used to do business with the credit union that happens to be in the middle of that flood. Oh and my wife decided to take the Echo through that river a few years back in December. Nothing like draining all the fluids out of a car at midnight in December after work. Just a little bit of river water in the gear box no problem. I guess that car in the photo did have problems......

I think there’s going to be a lot of flood-damaged cars for sale between New Orleans and New England in a few months!
It didn’t hit Mass as bad as you guys.

yeah some Hurricane Ida cars will be floating around out there on the market....

We wanted to get back to our favorite little spot in Readsburrow VT again this weekend ( we haven't gotten up there this year). Yesterday the weather was no good for it. Today we were just on the edge of Thunder storms and even missed a bad one coming back home on Rt 91.

Timing was everything today! Look at this cool old car spotted at Hogback Mountain.

and finally got a photo of that 4runner we keep seeing up there. Its a screen shot from video because I wasn't 100 percent sure where it was.

More exhaust work. I realized recently that the gaskets to the cat were bad . Turns out the exhaust pipe from the engine was starting to rust away. I fixed that for now but it's going to need attention again one day.

and some goodies from 22re Performance.

I ordered some Jolly Ranchers and some other stuff came with them 🤣

Looks like a good fix and should last quite a while. But since you have the mig, you can get new flanges from these guys who i have dealt with. https://www.bearriverconverters.store/

I've heard, truth or not, I don't know, it that the sticker you show there will increase the engine's horsepower by 5. You'll have to let us know!

I wonder how much the Jolly Ranchers will kick the HP up. Has to be some, or they wouldn't include the gaskets and so forth with them. Have to include new parts to support the increase!

Have fun!

after seeing how good the rest of the pipe is this may very well be the next step.
