Today was the day for the big Vermont trip. Plus some side trips through Mohawk Trail . The trip was about 180 miles round trip. The ol 4runner did well on some gourgus mountain climbing. Florida Mass
We took another trip out to the North Western part of the state today. Lately it seems there is always a chance of wet weather and we got lucky when going to and from VT . Not this time , I got a little wet on the way back. We actually found a nice little route through People's State Forrest to the other side where we stopped for a picnic on the shore of the Farmington river.
we tried to stay dry parking under a tree for a quick stop on the way back. It would just rain on me more when the wind blew.
I think I may be at a point where I've spent as much time out enjoying the 4runner as I spent rebuilding the engine now. Yesterday was the perfect day weather wise for a cruise out to one of our favorite places for a picnic in Granby CT. Then timed it just right on the way by Bradley International airport for a fly by.
Another day with this high heat! I heard about state beaches closing down early due to maximum capacity today so I wanted to see what the boat launch at one of my favorite lakes to fish looked like. It was a zoo. On the way back though we found a nice place to actually test out the 4 by 4 of this 4runner and looks like a nice place to get away from everyone . Maybe a future picnic spot.
that an 4 by 4! I looked them up because I've never seen one before and they made em 4 by 4 also. Pretty cool. Also found one with the fire bird decal on the hood.
Just for kicks we decided to take a ride out to Buell's Orchard in Eastford, CT. Turns out this was the first day of peach picking! I Wasn't even sure if it was even open. Lucked out there.
Yesterday was another cruise around northern Massachusetts and southern Vermont. The forecast said mostly sunny but there were a lot of clouds and it was a little bit chilly riding in the back after we have had some hot days here. On our way up we pass this vintage camper restoration place in Greenfield MA. I didn't notice until I saw the photo I got but they have the same Shasta Compact we have.
Our route through Vermont we pass one of my favorite Bass lakes up there and while exploring that area we found a pick up even older than the 4runner. Also a nice pick up that maybe slightly newer than the 4runner.
the newer pick up we knew about from previous trips. That blue one was a surprise! The lake we like for Bass. The road leading to the lake. Gorgeous country up there.
