Am I Screwed?!!??!

so i just got the back end back on after doing my 18 inch bob.

its not pretty at the moment, i gotta get in the shop tomorrow and tweak it.

basically i put it on cause i was getting hassled by san jose's finest.

but my question is this:

since i cut and boxed the frame right after the stock shackles, am i screwed cause i wanna put either a marlin,tg,or allpro 5" springs on? they all say they need relocation of the front hangers and the back needs to go back a few inches.. is there anything i can do?

heres a reference pic

yea a double shackle set up would move the back a little bit, you dont want to go too far forward on the front hanger because then you whole axle would be moved to far forward. with my double shackle setup its about 3 inches behind the rear hanger.

Nice Job on the Bob!

I saw a guy somewhere that had attached his shackles to the vertical on the end of your now boxed frame.

Check out the left Hanger. Something like this. But you will need a pretty long shackle! lol

thats a great idea! thx for the compliment

i originally was going to cut up a hitch and put it in there or big d-rings so i made that plating out of 1/4 inch cold rolled steel.

if my truck got roadside bombed, those would still be there.

lets elaborate on this..
weld an aftermarket shackle hanger on the back?
with some nice pretty gold shackles..

bbboooiiiinnngggg

I ran 56" long springs on my '85 with the stock rear spring shackle location and a 7" c-c rear shackle:

I now run a double shackle in back with similar springs. The upper half (3.5" c-c) is currently bolted to the frame and the lower half is 6" c-c:
