Ya you use an ifs box for your high steer. And for axles if your going to go chevy for an upgrade your better off going 1 tons. Especially if you going 40's +. If you go chevy 1/2 ton your probably better off staying toyota and building them. Just my .02

I think the rockwells are a bit overkill. I would just stay with your stock toyota axles for now and start saving money for building them or D60 front and a D60 or 14blt rear. I had rockwells under a 75 chevy I built strictly for mud with about 20" lift. Ended up selling the truck before it was finished. They are just huge axles and the truck was not even close to practical.

3/4 ton front if its a D44 is the same as a 1/2ton just with 8lug outer's I would find a D60 if your looking for bigger stronger. Maybe look at these clutches http://www.marlincrawler.com/clutch/heavy-duty

As far as tires, if your not running this thing on the road. Find some 35s to 37s stuff them in there. You will need wheels with some backspace or wheel spacers.
Then just cut up your fenders to make them fit. Or buy some junkyard springs, take out a few extra leafs and out them in the front and back.

Well got most of my 3" body lift on today having problems with the back ones though. Went got just about everything that is needed. Goin with the 9." Somethin clutch disc and 10" chevy pressure plate. All i need is power steering gear box and a flywheel and I'll be ready to put it together. Hoping the drive lines are close to right

I ran 2 1/2" dual exhaust into two mufflers and dumped them in front of my tires. I have a set of ceramic coated block hugger headers. And my mufflers are custom built by a friend who does circle track stuff. They have a very unique sound to them that I like. I bought a few sticks of pipe and some u bends and made it myself. There are some pics on my build thread I think.

I agree with Travis, if you don't have fab skills accompanied by mechanical skills then the swap probably isn't for you. And like he said, it's preference. I too enjoy watching these old trucks get resurrected. The only thing I can't stand is when somebody hacks up a perfectly good bed. I've been searching for a good shortbed on the mid east coast for over a year while I watch people on here "modify" and destroy them wheeling.

Parker, I don't think your truck is ugly at all. Looks like it has a lot of potential to be a beautiful truck. More pictures are always welcome.
