Intake side of the engine was pretty tight without removing the intake, but I managed....notice new cam sprocket set to "0".....I used the degree wheel to advance it to accommodate for the decked block and then advanced it slightly further to lower the power band into the lower RPM range

VERY CAREFULLY pulling out the keepers while the cylinders have compression.....you don't want to accidentally drop a hardened keeper into the motor!

This shows where the timing chain was rubbing due to me being an idiot and putting in the cam sprocket backwards. Red line shows where the offset SHOULD HAVE been.....no wonder I couldn't find the "dot" that gives you TDC. No worries....I replaced it with the adjustable cam sprocket and actually installed that one correctly

Using a 12MM deep socket and rubber mallet to slightly bump and seat the seal into place with even pressure all around

Leak down tester reading good.....and keeping the cylinders pressurized so the valves don't fall down into them with the springs and keepers removed

New adjustable cam sprocket installed (I degreed the camshaft and adjusted it to compensate the block being decked a bit and then advanced it some more to move the power band into the lower end RPM range

Upper fill plug - I should have put it on the outside (to avoid interference with the internal gears), but I'm not planning on installing the solenoid pack on the winch, but rather, under the hood (so I have room for rally lights), so it shouldn't be a problem

Tapped and threaded 5/16" break bolt - big time upgrade over the weak little clip holding it on before, and from what I've read, this is one of the main issues / failure points of this winch when under heavy loads

cleaned up and painted the new motor to match as well - I'll probably put a 4" metallic "W" warn sticker on the front side of it as it won't have the solenoid cover there
