front suspension lift problem...help

I just got done installing my front super lift on my 93 runner. It just has the front lift, back is stock. I put the stock 31 tires back on and put it on the ground. now both tires are bowed out. the steering wheel is strait and both tires are pointing out a bit. WTF Is is just that my alignment is WAY off or is it something more serious, the sway bar is off and the tie rod ends are in the new mounts but not bolted tight, but that shouldnt matter. I looked at everything for a while and couldnt see anything wrong.

Any ideas, experiences, thoughts.

this whole install has been a PITA

Could the CAM bolts on my LCA's cause the wheels to bow out like each is turning out. I dont have the washer things on the back side for the nuts on the crossmembers and I took or the ones that were pressed in and put them back, but not on the exact position on the head as before, ...its a long story.

Alignment, set the toe in. To get it close, use a tape measure between the tires front and rear at the center line. Crank in the tie rod ends until you have about 1/16"-1/8" toe in, that is the front width is a bit less than the back width. THen take it to a shop and have them set the camber and toe to spec.

Thanks Roger. I was hopeing that was the case. I hope the CAM bolt thing will not be a prob. Im gonna have to get some new tie rod ends, long story short their not gonna work. will it be ok to drive a LITTLE to a mechanic and alignment shop as is? If I leave the tie rod ends.

Well, rule #1 is to get an alignment after installing any sort of suspension component/lift.

You just changed the entire geometry of it, so it throws the alignment way off.

Its normal!

This is what mine looked like the second I put it on the ground:

i dont have any current pics, but i have about 2 degrees of positive camber due to my bj spacers....

driving it is fine with jacked alignment, just dont do it too long or it wiill destroy your tires.... vehicles that have severe toe out problems can destroy a set of tires in less than 300 miles!

Best bet is to crank things in as close as you can get it by eye before driving it, but a short distance at low speed is probably OK. Might take it out for a test drive on a vacant street before hitting any traffic first to make sure it handles OK.
