I am running T-G High Steer on my truck, upgrade the studs to ARP (cheap insurance IMO) It works great. I would just recommend keeping an eye on the tie rod ends...mine are fine but they have a reputation for wearing quick...not every one has that type of experience though.

for steering box mountings I wish i has seen this prior to doing mine
it is a pretty good example

Angle it so the holes line up on the frame in the center and then test fit your mounting plates. Tack weld and test fit again to make sure the pitman arm clears and weld out.

before your final welds cycle the steering-->what you don't want to have happen when you install your high steer:

not to hijack but do you have to drill holes in the frame?

Yep, you need to mark, drill, and sleeve the holes and adding plating inside and out is recommended.

Im about to install hysteer on my runner. Do I weld the sleves into the fame and then weld the plates on? Or do the plates hold the sleves in the frame?
Does someone have a writeup?

I did the Marlin Hysteer kit. With that kit, the sleeves are already welded to one of the plates. Not sure about the Trail Gear kit if that's what you have.

Suppose it depends on how the sleeves and plates are made. If the sleeves stay behind the plates, then probably best to weld the sleeves into the frame and grind flush. If the sleeves stick through the plates, then they probably get welded to the plates and then the plates to the frame. Best to ask TG, though.

Right on. Thanks 4crawler. The sleeves stay behind the outter plate but go through the inner plate.

I take it the Trail Gear kit doesn't have the sleeves welded to one of the plates. I think you're gonna want to weld the sleeves to the plates after drilling your frame. On the outside of the frame, you'll need to grind the sleeve flush with the plate, because that's where the steering box fits.
