Ya thats Dean's rig with 37 or 39 MTR's i cant remember He loves those things but wants some bigger ones.

To get this far took alot of slow going but once one path is made its easy for the otheres.

I dont know how crash broke his rig but he did I think he and another rig were bashing each other and something happend. There was alot of carnage this day cause of the fight to the top. Good times

And to answere the question were it was... Tonga ridge. its a few miles before Stevens Pass

I acctualy dont have any friends with a 3.0's i think they have learned from my mistakes i dont recomend the motor to anyone. The 22re is nice and light and thats what most my buddies have and it seems to work well for them. They always seem to have motor problems on the trail (more like it sounds weird yet still runs amazing) I could do the swap in my sleep now. I could even build the entire harness if it came to it If anyone near me needs some work done im able too... provided a case of beer and a few bucks haha

Thanks

Thats right i must have been thinking about a different rig then. Yours must be bad ass on the trails. Since im fairly new to all the offroad stuff im starting smaller but im sure in times ill be fully custom axles, bigger motor, tires you know the whole thing like i always say its a never ending project but for right now i just want to be on the trails and it doesnt matter if its in a pile or a fully tricked out buggy

So some work has continued today mainly the tranny tunnel and gas tank filler work.

I went and picked up some 18 gauge sheet for my tunnel, rear shock cover and gas tank cover. I got alot but im sure it will come in handy again theres 2 of the big sheets

I used project poster board to make a template then cut it out. Ill use sheetmetal screws to mount it solid and make for easy tranny service. Same was done for the other side. the actual tunnel crossbars are made from 3/4"x3/4" and 1/8" thick so when i cut the side mounts off i added an extra 3/4" hight to it and ill bend it so I will not only use less screws but I will be able to take the top and sides off faster.

Ive still got to make the back portion and the top with holes for the shifter. hopefully ill finish that up tomorrow.

Heres my gas tank hole. Not only did i accidently break off the door but to make running my gas filler neck easier in its new location i want to move it back a bit.

So I cut out a filler piece of sheet and spot welded it in. Im going to bondo it to make it look clean and if nothings moved but ill have to wate for a better day weather wise to do so.

More work to come soon

Ok so some paint has dried for the sides of the tunnel so i sheet metal screwed the sides on and made the top as well. I still have to cut the holes for the shifter boots i bought from B&B for cheep Work stopped due to the rain

So with sides screwd and primered

Top On

Pass side

Mock with shifter boots

If the rain lets up I may get a bit more done today

Just a bit more work before it got dark. I bared the rain to get this done real quick

Dark pic but im sure you get the picture

I still need to cover the back with sheet and t/c and front portions with leather to make a low profile making it easier for me to mount my seats without interference.

you worried about keeping out the elements at all on these? might also be a good idea to spray the underside with rubberized undercoating to help with noise reduction. the leather should help with that a little bit too. looks sharp. cant wait to see it with the seats in...any chance of working in a couple cup holders in the rear of that tunnel?

I second the undercoating ... but what might be better is something to insulate? Otherwise ain't it gonna get durn hot?
Anyhow, keep up the great work
