Took it out and had some fun Saturday

Aside from a few early morning hickups involving gas, brakes , and idle. I got it all running smooth and let me tell you I love the new power and low gears is just simply amazing. I was able to mob faster on a trail than i ever have and the ride was simply amazing. I love width even in the small trails it helped alot like the pic above

Great times and a big thanks goes out to anyone and everyone who has helped me get my truck to this point.

Thank you

See ya on the trails

It got stuck in some mud once. I got pulled out and went around like everyone else. Every aside from me was on either 33 or 35's so I was definetly the biggest there and at times it showed and other times was a bit more to there advantage Almost lost it in the one pic you see me close to going over and had another close call up in the hills when the brakes went out but other than that its proved to be very stong and very fun to drive. I love the quick responce of the 3.4 and it definely pulled its weight baraling down some roads at speeds I maybe should not have been going but I never felt out of control which was nice. The low gears also made going anywere feel possible. Its nice to let off the clutch and just go

I cant wait to hit the trails again with it and hope to very soon.

Thanks

Nope no nipple twisting although some of the guys were quite interesting to say the least. It was a blast!

Next time for sure. I want to go next weekend so will stay in touch. Its funny I passed you and a few others I knew on the way out. My bro had to leave early otherwise I would have been there all day

Truggy build should be sweet. Ya I need bumpers and cage for sure. I was jinxed about the rear tailgate and having no bumper as I pretty much detroyed it out their when the brakes went out on me and i rolled back down a hill into some trees. Thankfully it didnt end up worse like it easily could have and also I could really care less about that tailgate anyway its

Get that truggy done and ill see ya on the trails

Long time since my last updates but a lot has happened to my 4runner or can I still call it that

I finally got to do some and off came that annoying heavy back roof.
Out came the glass from both sides and rear tailgate. Unfortunatly the passenger rear window didn't fair so well during removal but the other two are for sale

The first cut

Also decided to shorten it up a bit so off came the rear

Shortened basically right to the end of the frame

So what better time for a rear bumper

2.5"x 1/4"thick.

New tailgate design.

Got some stamped diamond to go on the inner side of the tailgate.

In mock up

And complete minus capping off the ends, misc sheet welding, and it needs some latches. Other than that its beef :hillhill:

I was curious.... does it "feel" lighter with the back gone? Just wondering how much or a difference it makes with the COG.

Cause Ive been wanting to for years

the gain in ability to see more is loads better and that top was alot of weight up high which isn't what im looking for. I love it chopped but do miss the clean look of a full bodied 4runner

Thanks

the top and tailgate was a few hundred pounds of metal and glass. the feeling of the top gone isnt really much different as the body does roll still more than Ide like but ill live As for the visual blind spots it once had are now a thing of the past. It helped alot this last weekend and im very glad I did it.

Not to sure about a bikini top however I could see it looking sick. I just picked up some diamond plate from work and hope to start building some stuff with that. Ill see about closing the back some but its really not to big a concern just yet to me. Im gonna have to think about it

Cage is what I need and a winch!
