looks awesome man. sorry to hear about the engine crap, that always wreaks the head when ur so close to finished. what do u plan to do with the rear fenders? i wish i could chop it like that, but she wont let me. see here in alberta there is no annual safety inspections, so once u get it inspected once, u can do what ever u want to them. when they do inspect them they only make sure they are safe and not a death trap. anyway looking good, cant wait to see her tear stuff up. goodluck on the engine rebuild!!!!!

Lots of plans for the rear soon. Not only the roof most likely in the summer when we have some dry weeks, but also the rear fenders and also axle locations. I plan on moving the front farther forward and the rear farther back. Not too drastic but a 1" or so. To cut the rear fenders easily it will take moving the axle back some. I will cut them out before any major wheeling or for sure I will have major rubbing issues. I need to also finish my bump stops but that will come once its drivable.

The heads are going to the shops for some work this week. (cleaning, decking and inspection) I picked up a pair from Josh (AKA deathcougar) last night... Sorry BTW for showing up so late but thanks alot for the heads they need minimal work but definitely worth what you sold them to me for. Thanks

I hope to drive it again VERY soon

Im glad there is plenty of wood around

Ill post up with some more pics as they come and look forward to seeing some trails again and wheeling with you all

Thanks

I know how much people like pics They helped me also get many ideas, and still do all the time

Hope to see yours come together soon as well! Its cool to help inspire and give some people ideas as to future projects. Ive made my fair share of mistakes on it all but it takes doing and learning from it which is always well worth if you ask me.

looking good. its been a long time since i've been on the forum. its taller than i remember. seems like with the fenders cut like you've got 'em and if you cut the rear you could lower the body some to help with stability...of course, on second thought that would be tough with the way your motor/tranny/xfercase are set up...in any case, it looks very good. cant wait to see it get some more trail.

Same here! Ive been working and saving. My heads are at the shop getting worked on so once I get them back ill get it all back together quickly. Should run great once back together.

Its sitting high right now in the pics cause the motor is out. I'll most likely take a spring out of the front and rear as-well as move the axles. The rear fenders will be cut after I get the motor in. Im thinking also of another way to cut up the rear roof to get rid of weight. I may take off more which will also help with the design of the cage I want for it. Im still thinking about all that but first I need the motor running

I hope to fire soon and youll all be the first to know

Good news

So Ive found my problem with oil pressure Turns out due to the hight possibly, and size of tubing used, using my oil relocation kit played a role in giving me bad oiling problems. I decided to just go with factory and use a filter in its original location. Its easy to change anyway

I got my head gaskets in today. I also installed the block and heads this evening. I hope tomorrow that I run and test my truck again will see but im gonna work my ass off.

Tonight we play GTA4 to celebrate

Pics to come

So I drove yes I said DROVE My truck for the first time last night

Felt great and has some awesome power Love the crawling abilities. Cant believe how nice the clutch feels also. One thing lacking definetly is the axles. They both are in need of a quick tear down. Longfields this weekend I hope. Ive orders the rebuild kit for it and some new wheel bearings. Ive got plans for lockers. ARB up front and im gonna add in a welded third in the rear. Ive also got to add my knuckle gussets.

Im going next weekend even if the thing doest run im towing it and dragging it

Summers coming soon so I hope to start seeing some of you all out on the trails.

Mad props on your project. I wouldn't have been able to get it done what with all of your setbacks and what not. The beast should be MEAN on the trails. Now all of your wheellin' buddies will be the jealous ones.
And once you get home with it all dirty you should just run over your pissy bitch neighbors.
Props again. That is one sick machine you've created

Picked up brand new and one of the very first if not first sold pair of 40 degree Longs and last set of drive flanges saturday I got the front end torn down today and should have the rear out tomorrow. Ive got some work ahead of me if I want to get my truck wheeling this weekend. Ive got to get it done and I should that is if UPS can get me my parts thankfully the lady a few blocks away called me otherwise I would have been wondering
where the hell my rebuild kit was Thanks lady although I think she stole my stickers

In the mean time we went out wheelin sunday and had a grand Ol' time

Hers some pics for your viewing pleasure
Erics 94 single cab

Nicky's 4runner. Nicky is one of the best wheelers Ive met and with only 33's the places ive seen him go are simply amazing. These pics dont do justice to what ive seen this rig and his previous rig do. Thanks again for taking me again and soon you wont have too

Random shots

The trucks in the background are borken Jeeps

Pickup in the back ground is a 92 with a supercharged 3.4. Too bad with IFS but bad ass all the all the same and went just about all the places the SA rigs did

Top Of Rieter

The flop Eric wheels this truch hard so it was bound to happen even though this may not have been the spot youd likely see it... it happend all with a smile on his face and some 's everyone was ok as it was a very soft and slow roll.

The damage and the badass rig that came to the rescue. those are 49's that are 21" wide. The buggy was so sick. His friend blocked the trail due to braking all his wheel suds in the rear. so he helped us and it turns out he is great friends with my neighbors in my apartment just across from me. Small world isn't it?

One more pic. the rig was fine after we let it sit and made sure little to no oil was remaining in the cylinders and beat it the rest of the day

Like i said before my truck should be making its first run this next coming weekend. I plan to take it easy but who knows if I may not just beat it Im excited but have lots of work ahead of me if I want to make it happen and I do. I hope to see some of you out there and cant wait to tackle the trails in my own rig this time.

Cool about the Long's.. that is an investment for me down the road.

Those 49" Tires are awesome...he must have to remove them for the ride on the trailer or maybe has a "Wide Load" permit.

Seeing your wheeling/build thread always reminds me I need to get to work on my '81..have everything to finish it (well this stage at least--new rear suspension and dual cases) just need some time to get over to my friend's shop

Keep up the good work!!
