With this last run yesterday and seeing another 4Runner that made me reminisce of my last one, the wife has agreed I need to find/ buy another one. So, my gratitude goes out to Jeff for spearheading this run and to all for showing me what I gave up when I had to sell my last one. Time's are financially sound for us and I think she feels sorry for me too....
All I know is YEEHAAW!
So if anyone here know's of or see's one 96 or newer, 4/6 cylinder, auto or manual, but it must be 4WD, let me know. The worst I could do is walk away from the deal.
Thanks again Jeff for letting me ride shotgun...it helped me to push forward and convince the wifey.
Looking forward to the next run and hopefully in my own rig....

Thought there might be a collision here

But not:

Would have been nice to get a group shot, but not too many places for us all to line up for one.
Once again - thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so awesome!
A big thanks to Ted for riding with me and talking me into a few lines I wouldn't have taken on my own..... But next time, remind me to let you drive!

My one fun spot this weekend out by Lake Pleasant with the kids...guy fishing to the right said it was the craziest thing he had seen since Iraq when we got to the other side and about 50 shad had been pushed ashore by the Yota...hey, free bait!

I posted earlier a huge event going on Sunday, Oct 16th - but after that I'm wide open do go any where, any time! So lets start planning some runs - I have 3 trail books and 4 or 5 Arizona Ghost Town books - lets get out there and check out what Arizona has to offer!!

Next weekend I am making a run up the back road to Crown King with two other guys in Toyotas...probably Saturday. I'll have my two daughters with me as my wife has to work.
General trail comments - a stock truck can now make it by staying on the road and not playing on the tougher bypasses, although some are not bad. Desert pinstriping is minimal and from memory, there are no low clearance concerns. A rear locker and a small lift of sorts is probably needed for most of the bypasses. There are still a few challenging areas, but the main obstacle has been eliminated. The turn at the mine, which is usually the bottleneck where people get stuck, has been dug out for improved fire service access. From that point, its a graded road to the restaurant at the top.
Its about a 4 hour run up to the top and is overall a good time. The way down is the front road to CK and you end up at I-17 at the Bumble Bee exit north of Black Canyon. Its a graded dirt road that takes about 45 minutes to get down to civilization.
