If anyone local has a 48" Hi-Lift and wants to trade bars for a 60" let me know. I have an extra new 60" bar that I would like to trade for a 48" bar. Or if you are going to buy a new 60" Hi-lift, save some money and buy a 48" one and we can trad bars. It has been used one for my body lift installation.

great run out at Florence/Box Canyon today! Thanks for the link, Jeff! Good to meet you out there. Glad I did the Box Canyon run, the short Blonde humans were "scared" enough on the "easy" run...great group of...JEEPS. I was so sick of JEEPS by the end of today! lol, we saw 3 (counting mine) runners, one Taco and a couple of FJ's. And 96 JEEPS! ANyone know the name of the town/building 1/2 way out of the canyon on the Left side of the trail? Love to know the history!
Going to try and post my pic's from the run...bear with me, newb.

Since this is gonna be a shake down for the new ride, I was thinking something simple like doing Butcher Jones again. I have a pretty good idea of what it takes to get through most of it and I'm really hoping Jeff will want to go. He know's it better than I do. I'm hoping to get rid of the street tires and get something more off hiway friendly...the wife already agreed to the tires on the new ride (if there a match for rim size and because they're so new) can go on her vehicle and she'll pay for the new ones on mine. The tires on the new 4Runner are pretty new less than a couple thousand miles on em' and they're Michelin's (spelling). Anyhow, I really dont want to tare it up to bad but I do need to test it out...judicial use of the skinny pedal and a good tow point or two. It's open to everyone...

well, I've nearly found/isolated my electrical issue. it's either the gauge cluster or the wiring to the gauge cluster.
Anyone have any issues with a bad cluster shorting out? Right now, the tail lamp/dash fuse keeps blowing. I inspected all the wiring from the backseats to the tail lights and all seems to be in good order. I removed the cluster and the fuse didn't blow, so that says something there. Then I reinstalled the cluster without any of the lightbulbs installed. So i atleast have a read out, just no illumination. Anyone know if the gauge clusters are known to cause a short?
In short though, I can finally take my beast back out and hit the trails since the fuse stopped blowing (yay for tail lights!).

You have a test light? Check each light socket with either a test light or a multi-meter continuity test mode.

Evergreen pearl??
lolWellll, here's the deal on that.....honestly I must have called them about 8 times and have had somebody answer 0 times. Now I understand they where at the expo in Cali. but I waited till the monday they came back and still got no answer. I'm not bashing or anything I'm sure Sierra Exp. is a great company with great products and customer service.......possibly just by chance I got no answer?
HOWEVER... I'm thinking maybe it wasn't chance? Possibly fate??haha I think what I am going to do is use the saved up suspension money to buy a new daily driver. I started working at a new job site and well.....IT'S FAR. With mud terrains and a locker it just seems more practical to get a 2wd 4cyl. 2nd gen.(ish) pick up. That way not only will I save gas but I can also load work crap without acting like a baby when something happens to the truck! Going to take a look at one tomorrow that looks really clean in picture (but we all know how that can go)....hopefully all goes well....wish me luck guys cause I'm dreading driving to work in the rig!!!!!
As far as the run I am still down as long as finances permit

Check if all the screws on the back of the cluster are tight. They can loosen over time from thermal cycling in the AZ / Kali desert heat. Some of those screws secure grounds. Easy to check the next time you have it out.
You have a test light? Check each light socket with either a test light or a multi-meter continuity test mode.

yeah I talked with a co-worker of mine and he told me to inspect the plastic circuit board too. I guess if it gets folded it can short out on itself. I'll check all the screws as well. I had no idea that those were all grounds. idk if I'm using the FSM incorrectly, but it doesn't go into any of this info in the body electrical section haha.

Ok, some shot's of the new 4Runner. The 3.4L seems to be a smoother engine with a bit more power than my old 3.0L Green wasn't the first choice but with how clean she was, and the price I was able to negotiate, I couldn't resist. So....on to the pics....

Leather interior and the tunes sound really good...the cabin is alot quiter than my old 90'

The PO supplied the wrong shift knob for the transmission...but the beauty is it's a manual transmission...either auto or manual would've worked though.

Did I mention the PO already installed a 2" Revtek lift?

Hopefully the wife will allow the transfer of these street tires to her vehicle and then hook me up on a set of new ones for mine...
