Actually, D, tis ome is a 63' and came from the factory with the square wheel arch. And you were close on the make....Austin Healey MKII Sprite...AKA: Spridget. Came stock with a 1098cc. A-Series engine. Race prep. was a 40 thousandth over with everything internally balanced. There's a lot more tweeks done to the vehicle than I'll ever let on both internal engine wise along with other components for the track. My plan's are V.A.R.A. in the next year or two. The engine machine work was done about 6 or 7 years ago and has sat idle since. But, now that its in my office and I can tinker here and there, as money and the wife permit, she'll finally get more attention. I just don't think I'll be able to balance two toys at once...something's getting ignored some where for sure. Currently the engine is bored 60 thousandth's over and has been waiting for new connecting rod's to show up...it has custom JE pistons waiting to be mated and then rebalanced.

Since all the work has been done in So. Cal. I'm looking for some performance machine/ engine shops locally....so if any one here knows of any, let me know please.?

Domestically purchased at Le Man's Motor Sports in Los Angeles. It is LH drive though...standard for the States. It is the original engine that came in it, though thoroughly massaged. My pop said, through third gear while racing, he'd bounce to 7K RPM without any valve float. Touching to listen and watch a grown man in his mid 70's become nostalgic...if I didn't know him as well as I do, I'd swear he'd be about ready to shed a tear. He's already called me up twice to let me know he's coming for a visit...not for me though...the car.

scottsdale machine did all the engine work on the runner engine balanced, blueprinted, bored .30 over, polished crank, opened up heads with bigger valves (stainless steel),ported and polished heads, bored out throttle body, polished intake and runners. they did alot of work everything seems to be holding together for now but they are pricey all the stuff done cost around 5,000.00 (i did not pay this the previous owner did)

Ok, I googled "scottsdale machine" and everything but a machine shop came up....just a bunch of yellow pages listings. Do you have anymore information on em'? Thanks, Ted.

I officially put my straight axle parts over in the classifieds. If anyone wants them speak up as I will make a better deal for local folks.

Can't, waiting on rear shocks and still need to crawl under the 4Runner and do some investigating. Besides that its my 2 year old's 3rd birthday....so I guess that'd make her my 3 year old now. Next weekend might work but I'd like to go some where other than Butcher Jones.

Hey Nate, what's the name of the place you, Connor, Travis and I went to again? I'm not remembering...

Woodpecker. That's a fun little trail. Are you thinking about running it with the new 4runner?

Ummmm.....I don't know...that one wall where I was bouncing the old 4Runner is a little intimidating for the new one...umm, I mean me...and that was on 35's....don't know if I want to risk any breakage. What do you think....

I would at least pick up a locker first. If you were to choose your lines carefully you could probably get out with minimal carnage. I was locked on 33's when we ran it before and really only had issues because I got cocky.

well, after 4 attempts, the 4 runner made it through emissions!

1st attempt was with no change (was a bit advanced), second was with timing adjusted to stock, 3rd was retarded about 3-4 degrees and I only failed by .01 NOX (Carbons jumped up to around 22), then pulled about 7-8 degrees and passed NOX by .07 and Carbons fell back down to around 13 (weird right?).

Finally decided to install the CB radio and antennea too.

Anyways, gonna go do some exploring out at Table Mesa in a little bit. If anyone heads out there I'll be on Channel 13.

The mud was no match for the beast! Toooo easy, I didn't even have to take it over 3k rpms haha! Now the clean up on the other hand, not so easy...
