As far as I know, we're still on. I know BLKNBLU was hitting Axle Alley today I'm running out to Wood Pecker tomorrow...like Mike, if nothing breaks on mine, I'm still in...new trails are always fun to run. Jeff mentioned it to me as a reminder so I know he's probably still in.

So I'm home intact. Thre rig is making a few odd noises but I'll take a look underneath tomorrow and let everyone know for sure about the 7th. A few pics here:

Hey Mike- I made it home intact as well. Though this WoodPecker trail is about as rough as I dare take the 4Runner on, at least in it's current setup. If there were more lift and I was locked in the front, then I think I'd be comfortable with something a little harder. Your pic.s with captions in the link above are great. I wish I could've gone....nothing like staring at clear blue skies when navigating obstacles...so how was the pucker factor on your run? I'll gather some of the other video from the guys that went, slap em' together and post it up on YouTube with link here for it. All total there were 4 rigs today: 85' stock except for 31's but open/open, 87' front locker/ rear L/S on 33's, Jeep Cherokee with 8" of lift on 33's open/open. We all had a blast and the 85' 4Runner had a little difficulty on some of the obstacles but managed through with only bending back the P-side rear bumper. I think I'm getting mine dialed in finally.

After poking around under my truck today, there is something fudgy on my front driveshaft. I don't think it's a big deal but I'm going to have to suss it out, which means some downtime. Since I'm going to do some other maintenance and upgrades this summer, I think I'm going to call it a wrap for this season. I'll get a head start on being ready for Fall. Sorry about next Saturday but if the gear isn't ready...

Plans are to put in my 30 splines up front and re-seal the diff. New spring bushings and TRE's. Out back chromoly inner axles...maybe a disc brake swap. Haven't fully decided on that one yet but really, now would be the time. Inside, install the fridge and build a platform/storage area. I'll try to keep you guys in the loop on any days that I'm doing stuff in case you want to come supervise/critique. I think a bunch of it will happen in bits and pieces though.

That's a good call. I'm a little technologically challenged, but I'll try to figure it out.

So a few of us did Lower Woodpecker on Sunday and I managed to get some short clips of video (mainly of Snowshredder 555) so figured I'd post the links here. Ted will probably do something fancy with the videos and pics later, but here's something for now.

Ted - I can definately see a HUGE improvement in your front flex!! Heck yea!!!! I can't wait to get the new t-bars on my truck.

But I still think you need to do something about that crazy antenna!!

I just caught up with the last few months of this thread. It seems like a bunch of you are in welding classes. Thought that was interesting, I just finished a GCC welding class.

Jeff- I think most of the (controled) flex came from me taking out both sway bars the night before. I held on to em' just in case I felt I had to much body roll while street driving. But, yeah, after replacing the idler arm and swapping out the T-bars to my sway-a-ways, I really like the softer (still kinda harsh compared to my truck) ride and the steering control is ( read: tires flopping around like a dead fish =ing no traction in the front) much improved. AS TO THE ANTENNA....I do need to address that...but other things have now popped up that I need to address before the antenna....

Mike S.- It was, 87 Deathtrap (Nate) is a really nice guy and he doesn't mind trying the harder lines with his rig...though I'm glad this time, I wasn't the one being strapped up or down....Nate says: Hey lets go 4 wheeling, he means it...Since I'm still working out some of the bugs with my rig, I choose to take some of the easier lines...though at some of the obstacles, you dont have a choice.

loke- Nate and I are in a welding class together at MCC...just so happens he wheels his Yota 4Runner...and we got to talking...next thing I know, I'm wheeling Lower WoodPecker with him!

Oh! By the way, that white 4Runner....it's completely stock! Well, take away the 31's and it's completely stock...But it did the whole trail with only bending the rear bumper out a little on the passenger side. Just amazed at how well these rigs wheel in stock trim.
