hahaha thank you thank you....rear Aussie locker...no lift..not sure if I want to lift. Haven't had any real clearance issues so its not really necessary for me right now. If I ever did do a lift it would be very minimal.

sjb87PU- Sorry to hear about your misfortune...on the positive side, you still have your health and I'm assuming no one was hurt. Do you know what the cause or the source of the fire was?

Roni-Hey man, congradulations on getting the job...to bad about the confusion at the begining...glad to hear it all worked out though. NOW...about those tires...May I recommend you get the tie-rods and ball joints taken care of before you mount new rubber and an alignment...and I'm always willing to help with the work to get it done, (as long as there's pictures in the how to section). Oh, and the CB...still trying to get it to work...I dont know if the one in my 4Runner isn't working, (transmitting) but it receives the NOAA weather report, this might be a completely seperate antenna or source...got back late last night from California and haven't had a good chance to trace the problem with mine yet. But soon...I'll have a bead on it...and it is going to need a new whip for the magnetic base...shouldn't be too expensive though.

Roni - I've done tie rods and ball joints a few times already on my truck so if you need a hand, or somewhere to do the work, let me know. Or we can do the work at Teds - I'll bring the camera and some beers!

Ted - My CB does a similar thing - but it does seem to work well if I am relativly cose to another vehicle with a CB. A few other people I wheel with have CB's and I have never had an issue with keeping in touch with them on the trails. I have an SWR meter too if you want to burrow it to tune yours in once you get a new antenna.

Everyone - has there been an official decision about wheelin on the 19th? I know Mike mentioned The Coke Ovens, but 7:30am meet up time sounded like it may be an issue for some. Someone mentioned Bulldog Canyon - I called the Mesa Ranger station and they said every vehicle needs to have a permit and they must be picked up in person by each drive at the Mesa Ranger station. Heres a map to their location for ya Ted:

The station is open M-F 8am-4:30pm - along with maps and directions, they give you the combination to the electronic gate there and the combo is good for 6 months from the day it is issued.

I was thinking of going out to Bulldog Canyon this weekend to check it out.

Thanks guys. When I get the tie rods and ball joints I will let you guys know and we'll stomp that out before the new rubber!! Dude to be honest I'm still working on getting this dang job, they are soooooo dumb man. I'm starting to feel like I wont be attending a run on the 19th. :/ Prob. not for a while. I just feel like I need to get this stuff done and get situated first.

hey guys just a heads up crown king trip tomarrow at 9am we are gonna meet at the I17 and care free if anyone wants to join

 

lofreqjeff- I have an SWR meter built in to my CB...I think the guys over at 4WheelParts might have done something to it when they did the BL. (side note)...I have HID's in my Hella500's and when they were doing the BL, I stopped in to see how progress was...skinny of it is, the lights worked when I dropped it off and they didn't when I picked it up...not to mention they messed up one of the fuel lines and had to have it sent to another shop to have it fixed...this is just one of the reasons I dont like other people working on my vehicles. And the CB that needs a new antenna is for Roni...found it on CL for $15.00..came with everything...tested it to see if it powered up and it did...good enough to me for 15 clams...I do think a new whip for the antenna base should solve the issue for it...and SWR meter for it should come in handy...so yeah I'll be borrowing it from you...cool?

As for the 19th...I dont care who I go with, I just want to go some where and do some wheelin'! I've been with you and know your style of wheelin' so I'd probably prefer to go with you...who else is in?And Pictures....I LOVE pictures! Thanks for the map.

RoniThe muffler, when ever you can make it here...I still haven't found a good muffler shop around here, but when I do, I'll let you know,(welds are so important to me now). That way, when you come to get it, we can go down and have them install it...probably get mine done at the same time...maybe a multiple car discount would be in order? Hey, I know!...we can have a "FIX UP RONIS 4Runner day"...multiple things on one day....tie-rods, upper/lower ball joints, new muffler, and install the CB...WOW...now thats a full days work.

Ted - did you fix the pre-runner issue yet?

I HAVE to go wheelin on the 19th - one of my friends from Detroit is coming to visit that week and I promised her an off roading trip on the 19th.

I'm definately going to do a pre-run out at Bulldog Canyon on Sunday - when we get back I'll do a little write up and post up some pics when and we can decide then where we want to go - Sound good??

Jeff- Picked up my pass for BullDog Canyon....Just need some wrenching time and I'll be set. So I'm for sure going. Is it just gonna be you and I or do we know if more are joining in?

Simple question...I hope some one who knows chimes here...I'm gonna be ordering up my tube bender here in the next couple of days and was wondering if what I've come up with is correct. So please respond if you know.

Common size of tube used for sliders and bumpers? I've come up with 1.75" and 2.00"...but for the JD2 3 bender the CLR is 5.5" and 6.5". I'm sure this will give good bends, as the reviews have been positive. Does some one have some pictures they can post of what these two bends look like. Just want to make sure before I go and drop the money first.

Ted and I both had issues come up on Saturday which prevented us from going. I'm open to go next weekend - if it doesn't rain again (like they say its going to) I'm too lazy to put the doors and the roof back on just for a few hours.
