yeah yeah yeah

turn the main hoop into a tongue sticking out ,, add a radius on each side like a smile

across the bottom where in the pic the cable is hanging down, not another hoop but a radius coming from bottom of angle at left and right where that bracket flange goes across for the mounts
right above the bolt on left over to above bolt on right...

Hey guys, I'm new to yotatech (been lurking for awhile), but been wheeling toyotas for years. Figured the az roll call was the best place to check in. Great thing you've got going here. Hoping to get in on some of the upcoming runs.

The tubing wraping around the side we've already bounced around. He agree's to that idea. And today I learned how to make a kick out for the sliders. Seemed so difficult in my thought's but as we did it (as he showed me) it just came together. I'm thinking he's done this before

I think what you're saying: Take a 120* bend (or so) of 1 3/4" tubing from the lower mounting location, going up into the stinger to act as a reinforcement but with a slight angle to the center of the stinger...? Did I get it right?

COOL! Let's see what it cost's first...and you never know, he just might need some test beds as well. I think for prototype's he might use maybe three or four trucks to see how things go and he'll probably do it for just a little over cost...But there's one person in front of everyone else aside from me. I promised him I'd make a front bumper for him and I intend upon keeping my promise...I just haven't spoken with Chris in a couple of weeks, nor has he posted in a while either...SO WHERE YOU AT CHRIS?

I really like the look of that bumper Ted. Especially the way he contoured it into the cut fenders for one continuous line. I thought at first glance that it was all a bit low and was going to suggest you bump everything up a bit on your own bumper for better approach angle. Looking at it right next to a pic of mine though, it appears to be about the same and I think any perceived differences are just a matter of pic angles, looking at a plate bumper vs. a tube bumper, and the fact that my converted IFS has the additional height of the spring hanger added to the frame as compared to the original SA on the subject truck. Still, I would keep approach angle in mind when designing your own. But I'm a function over style guy every time.

On a seperate note, I'm sorry for being incommunicato lately. I've just been busy with work and house stuff and have only had time to tap out a couple responses in threads here and there. No real time to actually answer anything with any real thought or consideration.

Hey Nate- Glad to see you joined us on the boards. Yeah, I called last night for the time to show up (jury duty) and they said to call in at 11:00am. I thought, GREAT, Just what I need!..., to sit at home and knock out some of the honey do list when I could be at work cutn' n' bendn' some steel. SO, anyhow, they released me from my "CIVIC DUTY" and I decided to go to work.

HEY MIKE! No problem...and thank you for your thoughts. I have considered approach angle. With my IFS and 2" BL the bumper will sit a bit higher but with the triangualtion of the bumper it does slop up from the center to the sides quite nicely. I also dig how mean it looks and that I've not seen anything like it...yet.

I am looking at doing front and rear bumpers on m ine.... just throwin around the pencil right now trying to figure out the configuration I like.... somewhat more limited on the rear bump but the front will be cool....

There was talk of Sunflower Mine a couple pages back. Anyone for Saturday 5/7 for that?

One caveat on this though. I'm hitting a "hard" run this weekend so it assumes that I'm not broken. Still would be best to start the planning now though.

It's an odd little trail. To the mine is easy. After the mine is a creekbed and the condition of the trail is very dependant on recent moisture caused damage. I've been through when BLKNBLU was IFS and open/open. I had to work it hard but got through. If you're open/open AND no armor, I would think hard about it. That said, it could be easy peasy right now. You never know til you get there.

I would love to go to Sunflower - I was telling Ted (Snowshredder555) the other nite that I have been wanting to do Sunflower for a very long time, but I have been waiting for a time when Mike (BLKNBLU) would be able to go with us because I trust his knowledge and experience more that just about anyone I've ever met.

If there really is a run out ther on the 7th - I am definately in!! Please keep us posted!

Count me in too...that is if I don't have to work... though I think the boss would understand.

Dude, that sucks...if you lived closer, I'd lend a hand. So what do your plans involve as far as the repair goes?
