Stainless Braided Brake line replacement
can anyone see any downfalls of using braided brake line for the entire rear-end to replace the hardlines on the axle housing?
im debating on this and remaking hardlines when i do my shock setup in the back.
also what size are the fittings that connect to the drums on toyotas? tacomas specifically.
the hardline is 3/16" i found
thanks

I would stick with as MUCH hard line as you can as those stainless steel lines do "flex" and that in essence reduces brake line pressure.
When I redid mine I just got 3/16" line standard lengths with Toyota fittings (a 2 footer and a 4 footer) at the local mom and pop auto parts place and had them cut down to fit. The Toyota is a 10mm fitting, but be careful to get the LONG fittings in the right places and not the short ones so they'll seal everywhere. Particularly the input (top) in the tee on the rear axle...a short fitting won't seal there as it bottoms out (at least on my 86 rear axle) on the 85.
Don't know specifically about the Tacomas but I'd think they could look it up at the parts store.
I do have ss braided line from the fitting in the back off the frame to the tee on the axle and on the front from the OEM hard line from the MC to the small hard line off the caliper.

ok great. so from auto stores the lines come in straight lengths so i can bend/flare them myself?
didnt know that.
do you have a manual prop valve in there somewhere, and if so, did you mont it under the hood?
i want to mount mine under the hood but itll be a bit more work ive been reading.
thanks.
