lift advice???
my truck is sittin stock right now and id like to give it a little more clearance. nothing big, which is probally a good thing with the budget im running on, which is more non-exhistant than anything. im looking to add just a couple of iches all around. for the rear im lookin at an axel flip, but only if im going to b able to do it without extra parts that would cost money. if it turns out to not b possible i plan on finding an add a leaf kit or something for under $50 for that extra 2-3 inches in the rear. in the front i was told i could just crank some bolts on the torsion bar and lift it a couple of inches. this would b great, but afterwards i would have to have an alignment. costs money. not good. anyways, those are just a few ideas iv had or that have come to me thus far. any input would b greatly appreciated. thanks.

yea, thats the problem, but at the same time its not a huge problem. thats the way most jeeps ride anyways. its just a stiffer ride. not a big deal to me. and if worst comes to worst i can drop it back. its just a matter of getting that alignment afterwards. dont rly wanna spend that extra money, but id have to. is it rly as easy as it seems? just crank the bolts and then have the alignment?

Well its not a good idea to look into modifying a vehicle without money lol, normally when you change something it puts more stress on other parts which in turns leads to things breaking. So if you dont got money to replace broken crap then Id save up for a bit lol. But an add a leaf is a good start, I dont like the idea of fully cranked up T-Bars, they make bigger ones for not too much more and it wont throw away ride quality, or you can get BJ spacers (ball joint) for 1/2'' to 1 1/2'' for fairly cheap.

this i know all too well. money is kinda important. however, where theres a will theres a way, and as of today iv come up with a few more ways. the lift is going to sit on hold, just because of the money and such, but most likely by mid summer i'll b sittin a few inches higher. however, for now im gonna work the performance. crank up the hp a bit. my truck sits stock at 116, and as of now all iv got done to it is a k&n air filter, which adds almost 10 and iv got a cut hose through my air filter box. next on the agenda are new engine belts, a new exhaust, a tuned air resistance, and new 8core spark plugs. anything else i could through in there in the same price range of less than 30 bucks or so?

another thing, if anyone knows what the actually gains are for the stuff i talked about, ie what good new spark plugs is going to do for me, id love to know. its always nice to know what my hard earned money is gonig to. and it shouldnt b hard cause there isnt much to go to stuff.

Well I did a custom intake and manifold back into just a 40 series(no cat) and I couldnt tell a bit of difference on a 3.0. I had a 22RE but left it stock cause I didnt figure I could get any power out of it anyways. Do a full tuneup for starters, thatll help everything. Intake and exhaust should be next, free up a little horsepower there but if you want big numbers your going to have to look into head work, IE cam, bigger valves, porting and polishing stuff which could end up being a lot of money.

yea, true that. im replacing a bunch of stuff ie; engine belts, sparkplugs/wires, air filter resisatance tunes, exhaust, random fuses for my audio and such, already got the k&n filter, air tube cut off, such. im aiming for about 160horses by the time im done.

Engine belts, plugs/wires, air filter, fuses, etc. are only maintenance issues. They will make your engine perform up to par, but will NOT increase horsepower.
The free-flow air filter and exhaust are a step in the right direction though.
The only other power adder's are header, and then cam's (both of which are a little pricey)
Even then you might only be making 135-140hp, if that.
Like I said, I don't want to sound like an ass, but I would hate for you to use up all your money to gain nothing.
Good luck with your truck.

i totally understand the no power gain off of the matinence, and im not expecting it. but as of right now i need the engine belts cause i rev abrely at all i squeal like mad. just the little things. just to clear it up, im not expecting to turn my little 94 yota pu into some beast of a machine. all im aiming for is something i can have some fun in and wont b afraid to show off.

thanks. i'll keep it all in mind. at some point money wont b an object. hopefully this summer i'll make some massive mula and i can get some work into my beast, hit the trails. till then im just takin care of the small stuff and keepin it runnin hard. quick question though. it u go counterclockwise on the torsion bar will it lower the truck safely? maybe an ich or two? just a thought. i dont plan on doing it. lol. just want to learn.
