is it not just a normal nut and bolt? mine were...

i did find that the nut on mine was stripped so i had to break out the sawzall and cut it off and replace the bolt. make sure there is no load (positive or negative) on the spring when youre taking it off. support the frame and the axle with jackstands

Well it had a nut but i'm not sure what you'd call it b/c theres nothing for a socket wrench to grip on. Its just a smooth round...thing lol

But i didn't think about making sure there wasn't a load on it...

Well if the weight of the truck is on it, jack it up, and use a safety stand, then it might pop right out.

Side with the threads, then a hammer and a punch to knock it out.

if you can get the cutting wheel between the nut and the shackle to cut the bolt and nut off then yes, otherwise you could spend a long time with a grinding wheel grinding the head down to where its non-existent then hammer it out

A bolt and nut outlet, or a new shackle at the dealer, or used at a wrecking yard.
