update time...

today did the 4th oil change in 4.5K miles... back to a regular 3K mile interval now...
also, replaced the crappy aftermarket autostore fan clutch that decided to spit out its bearings and the cage...

all that was left of the bearings...

all that was left of the bearing cage...

and i found ANOTHER exhaust leak... well, actually a crack... a bad one... but the flanges are almost done, and ill get em fixed soon...

here are some random pics of the new muffler getting installed and some pics of me playing around in my "playground".

well, about to go to sleep before i head to Washington for vacation...
got my hitch and wiring harness installed last night so now i can take my trailer with me...

also like to note that after fixing and fixing and fixing this header it is still a big pile of crap... i noticed that there was still an exhaust leak after a couple days... went to look and EVERY tube that is welded to the flange that bolts to the head is broken...massive exhaust leak... hopefully i can get it fixed in WA...

do not EVER buy and OBX product... they are total junk...

That sucks you're having so much trouble with your header, Troy. People are always asking about my Downey header, and I just advise them to spend the extra cash for a good quality one, or they'll regret it. I've seen a lot of the cheaper headers with nice thick flanges, have constant leak problems. It must be due to poor quality materials. Anyway, have a safe trip to WA.

just got home from my 1900 mile trip... truck did great! she towed my little trailer like a champ and still knocked down 15-22 MPGs... only downside was that the exhaust broke...again... luckily i found a shop near where it broke... the guy took pity on me and only charged me 20 bucks to weld it up...

also, thanks to NWrunner, i have some new BLING to install... ill need new top plates for them as these are for a tundra, but thats only $150... plus because of the tundra spring rates itll help a lot with the front end sag im experiencing from the ARB bumper and it will also help me with some stability issues due to the sway bar delete...

also thought id mention that i got (free) a new back slider window that has a working lock and some floormats a tacoma DeathCougar was parting out... Thanks buddy, your an awesome guy!

small update... Autopal e-code headlights ordered and should be here within the week... just gotta get an H4 35W 6K HID kit from DDM tuning, and figure out what bulbs the procomps use so i can order the kit for those too... those are going to be 55W 6Ks... mucho luz...
also got a stock replacement downpipe ordered... going back to stock with the exhaust manifold... OBX IS CHEAP CRAP... so the cast iron junk is going back on until i can afford that pretty miniheader from Death Cougar... before that i might be dropping money on the top plates for the C/O's because right now they are doing absolutely no good sitting in my tool box...

and if anyone is wondering, ive got almost 9K on this motor now and no problems whatsoever other than a slight oil leak from the pan seal... not enough to drip, just enough to get covered in dirty oil... so, for now, its gonna stay that way...

autopals are here... gonna install them before i head out to see harry potter tonight...

anyways, went to a Scion/Toyota/Lexus show today... got Second place inthe Truck/SUV class... the guy who won first place had a 98 tacoma on airbags... half-assed body work, primer everywhere, painted over headlights, nasty rust, and half-assed wheel tubs that were tacked in place months ago and then primered over... SMH...
ive got a couple pics, but ill post up more later...

btw, if you get a chance to try them, get a can of the new lemon-lime NOS energy drink... really good and actually give you a small kick in the pants... i got 2 cases free...

Sweet find on those coilovers! hopefully it won't be too hard to modify everything to make them fit.

Congrats on the 2nd place finish! That is pretty impressive, even though it sounds like you deserved to win 1st...

got all new upper and lower Ball Joints yesterday... all i need are shackles and new top plates for the coil overs and then its LIFT TIME!

any opinions on where i should set the coilovers... they are at 1.5" now... im thinkin with the tundra springs its gonna be a little stiff until i can get a winch...

anyways, when the front end rebuild gets under way and the lifting begins, ill also be swapping in the Bilstein rear shocks i got from MalteseRunner almost a year ago... yea, im a slacker...

also, depending on funds, i might have either a locker by the squaw ridge run OR 35x12.5 wildcat EXTs...
aaaand, the rear bumper is in the process of being built on sketchup... will pist pocs when i get everything situated the way i want it...

Slacker huh? I don't know about that...It just sounds to me like you just wait and do everything all at once rather than doing little pieces over time, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Keep us updated with everything and good luck. I can't wait to see how it comes out!
