well, went to button up the short block and lo and behold, the main bearings taht LCE shipped me were boxed wrong... they were .02 too small... no way they would ever fit...
after a call to LCE, the right ones are on their way and i have a free set of main bearings for...er...something...

sending out the injectors to be cleaned in a day or 2... www.witchunter.com is where they will be sent to...

also, from some guys over at TTORA, ill be picking up TRD springs, Rancho Struts, 1" spacers and 1.5" shackles for the rear...
also might be pulling the trigger on a center console for 50 bucks... lets hope it fits...

last thing, anybody ever heard of www.japanengine.com
they have a good deal on a new 3rz head with a one year warranty for 500+ shipping...
any insight would be extremely helpful...

I've seen that happen before, but it's not usually after the first coat. Maybe too thick of a coat?

Too thick gets my vote. First coat should have a similar coating as a sneeze from a foot away. No way that would turn yellow

he thinks its the tip he was using... its a different tip than what hes used to using... couple this with the fact that its a new formula of paint hes using, new tip, and was about 45* in his garage when he was painting, that prolly what happened...
hes going to take it back to his work and get it blasted and start over with a new tip... thankfully he hadnt cleared the valve cover yet...

as of now, the bottom end is done except for the T-Chain guides and the #6 pipe plug for the BSR...

well, got my injectors back from witch hunter today... super fast...

also thought id not that my truck overheated yesterday on the way to work... looked after it cooled down and it was a litre+ low on water... just filled it last week... also should note that the water that was in there was cloudy and had oil in it...

so the little motor that wasnt supposed to survive 3K miles has taken me 15K without many troubles...

going down to san leandro tomorrow to pick up my brand new head... they were nice and gave me a discount... 475 plus tax... im so stoked to get this damn thing done!!

I used them too for my truck. About a 4 day round trip. Not bad Pennsylvania to Washington and back. Gonna use them for Joe's 4runner too.
