You gonna replace the clutch and see if thats it? I recall us ( particularly me ) putting the TO bearing in... that might have had something to do with it, yeah?

Troy it sounds like your transmission is part/most of the culprit. If JUST the clutch was going out, you would have intermittent difficulties shifting into every gear. The fact that you can't downshift is concerning too, maybe some syncros are toasty. I wish you luck though

Just an FYI to make installation and removal of the transmission easier, remove the transfer!

Just drain the transmission. A shaft seal keeps the transfer totally sealed when removed, so no need to drain it. Only about 10 bolts and bam 1/2 the weight is gone. Makes this easily a one man job, and makes installation so much better! Just a thought tho

thanks joe! never even thought about removing the xfer case... i deal in motors, this is the first time even touching a transmission...

as for the shifting, its hard to get into every gear... i cant just ease it in like i usually do(giggity) i have to slam it pretty hard to get it in.(again, giggity) the ONLLY reason that i can even somewhat smoothly shift it is because i have the pushrod for the pedal adjusted WAY out...

well, my MC HD1200lb clutch will be here tomorrow... doing the clutch sunday afternoon and monday day if i have to... cant wait to have my truck back... but this is the last large purchase ill be making for a while...
