Ive been doing a lot of research on bobbing the bed and i think ive made up my mind... im going to bob off 8-10"(still need to pin that down). im pretty sure i can tackle this myself and have it look okay...
going this weekend down to Dillon's Beach, then my next day off its getting done... just need to get my welder from my grandpas house...
i have a couple questions tho...
what speed/amperage is optimal?
whats the best (non plasma) way to cut the frame rails?
also should note that ill be tossing the plastic bed liner soon... if anyone wants it, let me know... otherwise itll go into the circular file...

The bob should look good! If not, cover it up with stickers
You could probably cut the frame with a Sawzall and some good blades. Any idea on when you're going to start chopping?
If you're going to Pismo, I can bring those Bilsteins for you, or if you know any of the Sac area guys that are going, maybe they will take them back for you. If you still need them, that is.

Dude, You don't know how much I appreciate the offer!!! But I just can't pull the trigger right now. I don't have the funds or time to do it. Though it would probably be the perfect swap for my truck! lol Thank You Though!!!!!!!!
Keep us updated on your progress. Where are you getting your new motor?

well, once again, the motor is getting put on hold...
it was pouring rain here the other day and coming home from work at 8AM i went to get on the freeway and ended up facing oncoming traffic... tires are bald... scary bald... and i spun out... anyways, this is the 9th or 10th incident with no traction, so i started hunting on craigslist... found a set of Goodyear Wrangler M/Ts for 500 bucks in san Jose, so i may be going to get them today...
blah... i guess ill have the motor replace sometime in the future... about another month or two... ive got to get my dog neutered and get him his shots with the next paycheck as well as get new pants and shoes for work...

thanks... not too many people tell me that...
got the tires today... they are Goodyear Wrangler MTRs in the 32x11.5 flavor... found a killer deal on them... just had to drive 2 hours down to san jose to get them...
total paid? $450 for the set, $100 for mounting and balancing, & ~$50 for gas... not too bad, methinks... but it is going to set me back another 2 months or so on my motor...
All loaded up...

Beefy...

These things are so brand new they still had the blue grease on the letters and stickers on them...

Comparison...

Last pic of the taco with those crappy A/Ts on it...

My local Americas Tire are the guys who hooked me up... awesome crew...

Getting swapped...

Done!

pretty flush...

Parting shot...

Really surprised at how little weights these tires required... one didnt require any... and they are rather smooth for a mud tire... noisier, but hey, i was expecting that...
thing i thought was the coolest was that when i took them into Americas Tire, the 3 guys with lifted yotas that are SAS'd kinda tweaked out and started asking me where i got them and how much and if they had another set for sale... guess its pretty rare to have a BRAND NEW set of discontinued tires... kinda like finding a set of KM1s with stickers on them...
