Heh, I probably saw 10 - 15 correct gen Camry's, and 4 of them were the right color. 1 was mangled, 2 had the same mass profusion of pock marks, and one.... was straight and pretty. That was in the first pick-n-pull. If that had not produced the good, there were 4 more I could have checked.

Nice to have resources like that available. None like that locally around these parts of the woods.
Thanks Yota. Enjoy it, my 11 year old is starting to think driving. Okay, really he's been wanting to drive since he was 2 but he said back then that he could see out the windshield when he was pushing the pedals and I had to break it to him that he has to be able to see more than the sky above before he could even think about driving.
Now he's got his own tool chest and is collecting tools. That's my boy!
Mr. Husbandio is painting a rosy Camry picture rw, but there is a dearth of 3rd gen+ 4Runners, Tundras, T100s and Tacos. It's aaarrgravating.
Haha, he may be. But, I do recall the recent front end work from the wreck that looked good too.
A whole bunch of Tacos were send to the crusher after the chassis recall and buy-back. It's a shame those vehicles were not parted out...many good parts were wasted. Sometime when I'm in Portland I'll have to poke into a yard and see what they have on hand.
Your garden all in the ground now? Mine is not.
What ever have you been doing rw?
Yep, it's all in the ground. Something ate the majority of my bell peppers so I had to go buy some to replace. Too late to start from seed again.
Other than that everything, especially the weeds, is growing. Lots of blooms on the blackberries too. Looks like it's going another summer of what can I make using blackberries.
Tauruses. Those are EVERYWHERE in the yards. Luckily it appears to be the same with Camrys, though hopefully there won't be another need to find un-crashied bits!
A wet spring and then a severe allergy season has kept my garden plan on hold for now. Normally I'm past the worst of the seasonal allergies by now...not this year. Thankfully, we have a long growing season.
Me too!! Something is letting out a very sweet, heavy fragrance the past two mornings that is nearly killing me. It's nothing in my yard so it wafting in from the neighborhood and it's around where I work too (2.5 miles from home). So, it's all over town.
Well here's a visor being modded. The 99 Ford Taurus is going away so free visors were available. Thought I'd see what could be done with them. They were not a great match- the post is too big for the 4Runner's plastic holder, it has to be trimmed to fit because it's too long- you get the picture. Lots. Down there.
Off the Taurus
Broke off Ford's mount:
Pulled out the catch thingy:
It's glued together cardboard. Gently pulled it open:
Pulled the spring out and trimmed off about an inch from the long end:
Unscrewed the 2 screws holding the 4Runner's visor in:
Took the plastic holder off for re-use on the Taurus visor:
Note: Both of the 4Runner's holders were split like this. It actually worked out good for me, the crack made sliding them onto the bigger Taurus visor post possible. I would have had to figure out a way to make the hole bigger otherwise. They are close, just not close enough:
Moved the spring over one notch. This makes it short enough that the 4Runner's catch will work with it:
Put the 4Runner's mount on the Taurus' post. Not a perfect fit. 'Luckily' the split was there and I was able to get it on, then a washer, and a tight fitting spring to hold it together until I can get to Ace to pick up a couple o' retaining clips of some sort.
3M Weatherstrip Adhesive is great for this. I used it to glue the material to the cardboard and then the two sides of cardboard together. Next I made a porcupine out of it and let it dry. Heavy books or what-all would be fine:
Will be interesting to see how it all holds up. The Ford's spring is bigger and springier and *should* stay in place better. How the split mounts hold we'll see.
Now I have another thing I need to test with some wheeling.
habanero, would you please document (with photos) the next time you grease your propeller (drive) shaft? As thorough as you are, it would surely help others locate each and every zerk fitting...

I greased them not that long ago.....from memory one on each u-joint so 2 on the front drive shaft and 3 on the rear shaft plus one on the rear drive shaft itself, maybe a foot from the back end.
That last one on mine is a flat headed bolt that has to be unscrewed and a zerk installed before it can be greased.
Anybody who remembers different chime in.
I will try to remember to throw pics up next time.
