Good morning, Hab! No snow here in town, so I'm headed up to Mt. Hood. New snow, mid-teens for temp, and no wind should be perfect. Might even be sunny too up there.
Have a great day!

....hope your hike was less crowded than my excursion to the mountain. I'll give up on weekend skiing for a few weeks....hope to get some weekdays on the hill over the next week or two.

It was and I'm with you concerning groups of people, less is best!

Worked on wiring up my voltmeter today. Didn't get it finished, I need to run out and pick up some female spade connectors. It was also a bit cold for soldering.

And still no moo.

And I was here before HE horned in on my Toyota fun with the '99 that I convinced him we needed so I could borrow parts off it for the '96!
Note to self: never let hubby choose his own truck or it'll be too pretty to steal stuff off of.

No worries yota in oz. If I got mad at everyone that thought I was a dude I wouldn't like a whole lot of people. 'Sides, it always gives me chuckles and aws when the guys stand up for me. Glad you're getting something out of my fun and adventure.

(pondering need of makeup or an 'I'm really a chick' t-shirt for future photos.....)

Either an older 240 or a 98 Cross Country but with a better diff.....
Considering his 240 is in pieces in the garage and it gonna cost way too much yet again, I think I'll hang with ol' Blue. It may not beat up on Mustangs or even stock Volvo 240s, but at least it goes every time I turn the key.

Been raining on and off all day but the snow's still hanging. Go an hour or so northwest and you'll be in a foot of snow but it looks like most or all of that's going to miss us.

did you ever notice any increased bump steer, vibrations/shimmy/death wobble, tire rubbing or other detrimental effects with your WabFab wheel adapters/spacers?

You mean on top of all the other things causing it? Except for tire and a-arm rub, no more of that. No, I didn't notice more than a fractional difference at best. Since I HAD to have clearance from the calipers and upper a-arms the adapters are a far better option than spacers. I don't believe the Landcruiser wheels to be hub centric (feel free to correct me anyone), though the tri-spoke I had before are and the Wab-Fab spacers were not an issue. If your wheels are you can additionally look into Spidertrax, I think. I am very happy with the effect of the spacers I bought from Wab Fab.

96 4Runner 247,xxx miles

Finally got the voltmeter hooked up and it works great! I've got it switched to see either the starting or the house battery. I wasn't sure if having the gauges where they were would be an issue but it is not. I know where the needle needs to be and can see at a glance if it's there, the bright orange is very visible and the distance is actually more comfortable for my old lady eyes. I can't read the numbers without readers anyway, and I can't use those while driving. If the gauge was closer it'd be even more fuzzy.

My dubious wiring scheme for picking apart:

And I tapped into the lighter socket lighting for the gauge lights.

fwiw there was a guy up here repowered his 240 wagon with a 350 chev? 351 Ford? .... wait... no it was a mustang eng. I think which would make it a 302 ford... in any case the article mentioned it was an almost drop in mod.
It was the "shop magazine" from Performance Improvements a local chain of speed shops there might be a link on their website if was a few years ago as I recall.

Hi Hab. Nice that you can monitor both batteries so easily. Wiring is not my thing.... Is the starting battery voltage read through the cig lighter tap? If so, you may have a tiny bit of voltage drop at that point, but the relative position of the needle gives the info you need, yes? Or, am I missing something like usual.

KC's second snow storm made the paper here today. 54, cloudy, drizzle here....and raining at the ski resort.

He threatens an LS1 if he keeps blowing engines but what he's done to the 4 cyl. Volvo engine is unique and infinitely more interesting. I think it suits him better because he has to be a lot more creative about it than some boring 8 cyl drop-in. Sure makes people do double takes when they see what's under the hood.
A Mustang engine might make more sense, it's already got a Mustang tranny. Bet he'd get bored with it in about 3 seconds.

I tapped into the lighter circuit for the gauge, wanted something that came on with the key. It's working great. I used the lighter's light circuit for the gauge light so it would come on with the lights.

We got a dusting of snow from that one, whew! 30's here for highs over the next few days. I'm ready for warmer weather. Bummer on the resort, does this mean ice slopes later on, or junky snow? I ski even less than I snowshoe.

Gotcha on the circuit. Nice work again.

Yes, it can get icy until new snow.....too much rain and warm temps can turn the top couple of inches of snow into something like wet mashed potatoes....very yucky. Thankfully, more snow is in the forecast for next week.

More snow than normal there for you guys?
