Hubby has a great looking runner and good to see him getting some things done on his. I seen a green one in this area just the other day and you don't see many of those around here.

Seats look great. I always like the cloth seats over vinyl and leather just for the reason as when it is hot or cold. I felt like I was sitting on a brick when they are cold or burn you when hot. Looks like your other projects are coming along.

Yesterday we were at 8 degrees and today we were 4 times warmer,32 degrees.

Two of the bolts on the sway bar axle mounts broke, I thought I'd try driving it a bit without the rear sway to see how I like/don't like it, before drilling and retapping to reinstall if I don't like it.

I also found out it doesn't fit in the parking garage at work any more. I thought it might be an issue, so after making sure no one was behind me, I inched up to the 6' 8" dangling plastic pipe clearance indicator at the entrance... and the rack bumped it. Heh, I get to park in the surface lot from now on.

 

RW- One of my little pleasures at my lunch lady job is telling the kids Happy Birthday! when they come through the line. What they don't know is the computer tells me and they get such a kick out of it. They think I am magic.

Terry- Totally agree on the seats, and they won't crack, either. Harder to clean, but I can live with that.
Now they are saying 1-3 inches of snow starting this afternoon.

 

Well, now it'll be easier to run over and give you a jump start, dear!

We had a kindergartner put his little hands on his hips today with all the indignity he could muster and say
"HOW many times have I TOLD you I DON'T WANT any fruit!!!"

Yes, obnoxious, but funny too if you look at it the right way. He'll eventually learn that the rules are the rules. They have to have at least one thing that counts as a fruit or vegetable on their tray. I guess the theory is that if they don't have it they definitely won't eat it but if they do there is an opportunity to at least take a few bites. We do have a free basket to put non-eaten fruit into for kids that need a snack, so at least some doesn't go to waste. It's cool to see a kid who is excited to be able to get a snack out of the basket.

I like when I am magic and when they are happy. This gig doesn't pay much but the hours fit my kid's schedule and the kids can be a lot of fun. One day I'll have a 'real' job again. I'll miss those sticky little monsters then, I think.

 

Ha, I can just picture that little guy. How could you keep a straight face at that one? lol

SNOW DAY!! No, I didn't get anything done, but a good time was had none the less. Can't seem to convince myself to crawl under the truck on the wet, snowy, cold ground and finish up my wiring of Aux Block 2.

 

LOL! I never learned the fine art of magic with my nieces, I guess.

Just installed a trailer crank wheel on the front of my boat trailer....a nice back saver even though the boat is only 12'. BBQ Chinook salmon from the fall and mixed rice coming up for dinner soon here.

 

Laughter is a whole different ballgame with nieces. They should get extra doses.

 

SNowDaY!! I have 3 daugthers and 15+ nieces. It was great when I lived in upstate NY and had snow.

 

For sisters....one is pretty giggly (16yr old), one pretty serious (18yr old), and they still think Uncle RW is cool (as do some of their high school friends). I've always gotten along with them great. They both are sweet kids.

 

I'm one of 3 daughters! With 18 girls you've gotta be able to laugh........
and never ever turn your back, especially if they've got silly string!

Upstate New York gets a whole lot more snow than we do if I remember right. I'll stick to the low numbers, thankyouverymuch.

 

I'd send both of you a couple of cases of silly string or whatever makes the kids laugh these days if I could.

 

My wife works in the school system and she says the kids waste a lot of the food due to all the changes they had to make to being healthier.

We did not have school today due to ice. That cleared up and now we are getting snow so not sure if there is going to be school today. I-49 got shut down for a little while due to too many accidents. I heard between Lenardwood and St. Louis they shut part of it down as well due to accidents. That is a hilly stretch there and always seems to be accidents. I feel safer on the uncleared roads as when the roads get bad, several try to do way over the speed limit and see several wipe out.

 

I sure don't understand why people get in such a hurry to be in an accident, it seems counter intuitive but what do I know?

My favorite eeks lunch from home so far is a full size bag of chips, a really tall can of soda (it was double the height, I've never seen one of those) and a package of HoHos. Not something I'd have expected an elementary school kid to have.

I like that we have a free basket for unused uncut fruit- that thing is always empty at the end of the day. So yeah, they have to take it, but at least it doesn't all go to waste and it benefits the kids that need a little extra during the day.

Today's snow is mostly going to miss us. A warmer weekend means both the 96 and 99 can get finished up...and I've got another small project for the 96 in the form of a power outlet (I'm power mad bwahahahaha!) for the rear cargo panel. More panel cutting, yikes!

 

96 4Runner 279,640 miles

Finished wiring up the second aux fuse block (the one for the start battery)

Rechecked the wires between hatch and body, everything still good, just the 4 I'd repaired before.

Made a bracket for the Anderson connector so the winch can now be used with the front hitch.


I still have to get wiring with anderson connectors for the rear hitches on both trucks. I may, on the 96, put in a positive buss. I've already got a negative buss. Not real important because of the military terminals, but would clean up all that big fat winch wiring from off the top of the batteries.

And watched the hubby install the rest of the SS 1.2 rebuildable kit. Now it's only got a little rake. Ready? Set! CV boot leak watch begins!

I rinsed the 96 off, mostly on the underside, but not too much up top so the doors would still open if it froze overnight.
