Hi Hab! We have turned to full on fall and rain out here. Snow is starting to hit the mountain. Soon those funny long things will be attached to my boots.
How's the trail building going? Planning some projects for the rig? Hope all is well with you all.

Ooh, the big long trippers hitting the feet again? That time already? We might get a freeze Friday, but all the precip's been liquid.
Trail building is great! Doing a reroute on the Berryman, adding new trail to various parks in the area, maintenance stuff on the Ozark Trail.
We were backpacking a few weekends ago, sleeping in our little tent when Charlie barked once and all this clattering and oiking happened. Scared the wild piggies off, he did.
Anywho, got a meat situation I'm hoping to get resolved in the next week- pics coming then.
Also waiting to see what Black Friday/ Cyber Monday has deal-wise. Still looking for some sort of spare holder thingy.
Lol.... At the elevation comment. The tough thing here, at times, is the howling winds that can come thru the Columbia River Gorge bringing moisture in over the cold....instant mess.
Great looking gourds. Love yours.....it's quite the character.
Took issue with the BFG A/T load range D I had put on in June. Took them into the tire dealer, who agreed they weren't right and agreed to replace. Took a month to find the same tire again, turns out they'd been last manufactured in 2012. Wasn't super happy about that but anyway...was afraid I'd get the same performance out of a second set and asked if it was possible to wait for the BFG A/T KO2 to become available. Love my tire dealer, they agreed!
Man, I hope these work out better than those A/Ts I had! Traction on the old BFGs was good, gas mileage not as good as the Michelin A/T2, decent/slightly vibratey on road, a little (expected) louder than the Michelins, no off-road complaints though I'd not got much off-roading on them. Never had a BFG or Michelin tire wear in the way that set did, sooooo disappointed! First thing the hubby noticed right off the bat, the tread blocks on the new tires are not rock hard like the old ones. We'll see....need to do more driving on them.
PS. I take cruddy in the dark pics....
habanero, your DIY write-ups have always been helpful, but one thing you could add to help a newbie like me is how long (i.e. how many hours) each project takes...

That could be misleading though, unless I really watched the clock. There's dinners to be made, kid to cart around, hiking and exploring to do, most often mid-project depending on size. Pics take a bit, especially if I've got to clean up enough to use the camera. Even if I did post times your experience will differ. You could be quicker or slower or run into a glitch I did not. Also, I am often figuring out what I'm doing as I go, either with research, other people's write-ups and/or just plain scratching me ol' noggin. It took almost 6 months of all of the above to do the e-locker/both axles/manual hubs/wiring stuff but it didn't take actual 6 months worth of time. I had to learn, obtain, and decide my own course of action based on research and on-hands tinkering. I tend to over-research stuff like that, 'cause once is enough times to get it right!
I'll be happy, though, to recount time spent on any one project if you like, either here or by message. Just let me know.
Hab your intense research has saved me a ton of time on many projects, I hate dumping it on you but you are a wealth of knowledge because of it and hands on, just wanted you to know I still check your thread lol hope all is well.
Jason! Thanks for the encouragement and compliment, I love hearing that all this head scratching and keyboard tapping is doing somebody some good! Brightens the ol' day.
Love what you've done with the bumper and the tire carrier, wish I had those skills and the sense to use them practically and artistically like that. I've been keeping up with the 97, but need to catch up on the 86. Always interesting to see what you're going to come up with next, and what tree you're gonna test.
RW-no snow day for us, the roads were in good shape. We still had snow on the ground this morning but now we don't. S'posed to rain all weekend.
The redtop Optima is starting the truck on its own again now that the temps have bumped up a little. I know I've gotta replace it, but the budget asks that I wait a bit. Stupid budget!
Maybe a boneyard run will help, it's deer vs gun season and s'posed to rain all weekend anyway. Got a small not very inspired list of things to pick.
Also got a grocery list to deal with tonight for tomorrow's shopping day and no volunteers to do it for me. Off to finish that so we have food to eat.
Knowing your creative projects, you'll come up with something good for a next-to-nothing amount of Georges.
G' night (after grocery shopping prep), Hab.

Several boneyards later and only one with a 3rd gen- and that one wasn't on the yard yet so no picking at it. DARN IT!!! An un-vultured 3rd gen and I couldn't be its first! Ah, well, I did find a little doo-dad I've been playing around with using. Cost me 2 bucks, needs a serious cleaning but does seem to work:
Won't get a chance to play around with this until next week or so, probably...
