Went wheeling Sunday, had a great time. Got a permanent mark on my record from one of those immoveable trees- all down the passenger side. Bone. Head. Right, Jason?
This one won't buff out. Well, I can't see it from where I'm sitting.
The hubby got his own permanent mark, guess it's not gonna buff out, either.
Ooh, and dad gave us his old Lincoln arc welder. Yay Dad!
Good looking plate....oops! I guess the marks come with playing, yes? Bummer that both rigs got em tho. :-)
I've been in lawn mower fix mode.....after the new throttle cable gets here it should back in tip top shape for a 14 year old Honda mower.
I still think it's his way of angling for new armor.... 99 following the 96 over a stump.... hahahaha
That 99 near stocker and its driver gets respects with its do-ability, and do it does, mostly.
Good old mower. Ours is 12- with an oe battery! The redtop in the 96 is what? Only 8?
Well, half your lot anyway, rw. Really though, with all the play area nearby, isn't your lot is simply where you maintain your holding pattern?
96 4Runner 267,733 miles
Alignment. It was pretty close, a tad bit of toe adjustment was all.
Rt rear (the side that had the bad bearings that I swapped out my old axle shaft for-which seem to currently be fine) axle tube or something appears to not be quite spec. Will that cause issues with tire or bearing wear later on?
Left rear toe 0.03, right rear toe -0.77
With the old axle those numbers were much closer, in the 0.02 or 0.03 range.
Ah, the joys of used stuff.
And these from the yard today, dunno what the yellow one is, the pink is Elegant Stinkhorn:
Hi Hab! Yes, a holding pattern place is a good way to put it. I do enjoy sitting on the front porch to watch the sunset and the colors that develop some nights on the Columbia River which sits about 250' below me and a 180 degree view. Quite relaxing. Or, the sunrise with a cup of coffee in hand earlier in the summer.
Oh yeah, ski pass is purchased for the season.

Ouch on the new racing stripes. Some of it might buff out. I remember those old Lincoln welders and have used a couple of them. I can make things work with those but my welds are not pretty at all and I would not want to put them under any stress with my welds so it is only on things that wont hurt if the weld breaks. Our garden is starting to fizzle out. We were hot a few days ago and now we fired up the furnace for the first time this year to knock the chill out of the air.
I was at a boneyard, 43 Auto Salvage, in Joplin. I know you installed the rear diff locker, but I know how hard these particular 3rd gens are to find. They have a Runner in there with the diff lock in it. Not sure if there is anything on that truck you may need. Any 3rd gen is not easy to find around here in the yards around here. I am sure that they ship parts. 43 Auto Salvage also sells rebuilders and I am sure they will part this one. It took a hard hit in the rear and the left door and fender are smashed in. I seen it and thought of you and Jason. If you want their number let me know and I will get it for you. It looked like it was in great condition before the accident.

Don't you just hate to see a pretty yota in the yard- other than there's parts you can use on it. I paid around $400 for that lower mileage elocker axle, Terry, since I never did find one in the yards around here with an elocker- much less a working elocker. Don't know if you could do the same with that one. There's a couple of 4Runner guys in Springfield in the Mo4wd club. It may be bent too, though, with that hit? Seats in good shape- 'specially the sporty ones- are high on the list of wants (I'm good there, too, though). Thanks for the heads up on it!
Knocked myself out and broke my collarbone for the 2nd time in 3 places in an mtb race down in Joplin.
Garden's still going okay. Still getting (fewer now) tomatoes, squash, bell and habanero peppers, okra (up to 9' tall, silly okra), and zucchini. It didn't do as well overall as usual, don't know if the cooler summer had anything to do with that. The yellow jackets don't seem to like the weather at all, been buzzing around all crabby. Got nailed by a couple of them yesterday while mowing the lawn, stupid old bugs. So far furnace is off, just some extra blankets on the bed and coats on as needed.
If I'm going to be welding I've got a lot of learning to do. We'll have to get 220 run out to the garage first, though. One disaster at a time.
Glad to hear from you, love watching your threads, seeing what you've come up with.
Yellow jackets are crabby here too. So far, I haven't been stung this year. The meat tenderizer for a poultice paste is on hand if I do. 45 deg this morning, 85 for the high and no wind....just about perfect.
Good old meat tenderizer. Thought about stopping for it, but really wanted to get the lawn done. Should've stopped, the bites are still swollen and sore, though not as bad as yesterday or even this morning. Was wrestling poison ivy today. There has got to be something wrong with me.
We recently found out about hand sanitizer and seed ticks. Use one with a high alcohol content, makes it a lot easier to get them off. Only works on the little dot-sized guys. A bit of that and a plastic card, like a credit card, is what works best for me.
64 for a high today, low's supposed to be 44 tonight. Been a weird year.
Off to shower the pi off and crawl into bed with blankies and a book.
Good night.
YJs and PI at nearly the same time????? Ok, I'll say that's a bit overdoing it, don'tcha think? Hope you are not itchy and swollen today.
Good tip on the hand sanitizer....that could come in handy sometime.
Have a great day!

Ha, no worries rw. I used to be not allergic to pi but life in my older age has decided I need to be allergic enough to get it in cuts and scrapes so I have cute little lines of pi here and there, mostly on my hands from getting cut up doing yard work- and the top of one foot because barefoot! Itches now and again, not much or often.
The yj stings have finally gone down and I'm all good again other than a couple o' big ol' bruises from a fight with the trailer and a lot of sore muscles from mulching and weeding and junk like that. Ooh, 9 mile hike today with the family, that was a good thing.
Hope your weekend was amazing!
It was a good weekend! 10km walk yesterday for me. Played lazy today. Oh, did the domestic stuff...laundry, grocery shopping, etc.
When we first moved up here from Southern California, I had no idea what Poison Oak is and soon found out that I'm not allergic to it after literally sitting on it while eating a lunch fishing. Juniper...allergic to it, PI don't know as again I have no idea what it looks like.
Google images, tons on pics on the web, usually turns a pretty red in the fall, sometimes yellow too, can be on the ground or up trees, the vines are 'hairy'.
When I asked a boy scout leader poking around the weeds for trash at a Clean Stream day if he knew what it looked like and he said no I pointed at where they were standing and said it looks like that.
Hopefully my angelic look of concern belied the chuckling underneath,
