I wish I had the $ too. :cry: I'm trying to keep my 4Runner N/A so that I don't sacrifice reliability, and port and polish work would be a nice way to get some more power out of a N/A engine.

 

Nice work man! Do you have any pictures of your shop? Sometimes potential customers like to see the shop...I just want to see the shop OK.

Ahhh, thanks! Is it worth the bucks and how does it effect mileage? Any clue how much of a power increase?

 

there is no set mpg increase, its a relative thing... tons of variables... also as far as any mod goes that adds powe, conservatively driven, will yield better fuel economy, however with added potential for more power, there is always that part of every person that sometimes abuses or uses depending on viewpoint that power. therefore, if you do the mod, you may end up gaining or losing mpg realistically....

 

I don't have any pics but I can get some. We do all the work outside at an industrial park because it is very messy, lots of noise and metal shavings seem to get everywhere. The steel heads are especially messy.

It's really nothing impressive. We don't have a retail shop per say, more like a pallett set on top of some steel 55 gal drums in a parking lot behind a big warehouse. We don't usually work on customer's cars, as in R&Ring the heads, we just do the grinding. It's always done at night til the wee hours of the morning when it's cool and you don't get bright reflections from the sun. We are in a partnership with a local machine shop with $1/4 mil in equipment so if we need to do any milling or fabricating, we take the heads there. That's also who does our assemblies most of the time.

 

The biggest gains will be for the force fed motors. We're estimating anywhere from 30-70 horse for the SC'd trucks. I'm dieing to get these heads dyno'd but from the looks of it, there won't be any problems getting substantial gains from the work. The SC adds 75 horse and goes for ~$2000, if we can get 40 or 50 horse from $1200 worth of work, it'll be a no brainer when it comes to hp/$.

I plan on offering substantial discounts to the first buyer since it'll be christmas until the owner of these heads gets them in and I need to build a reputation..
