New Paint & Line-x

Since I got questions and some comments about the new paint, I figured I would make a post showin off the new paint and liner. The paint is the factory color Maroon Pearl Metallic with 2 coats of clear. The paint hasn't be buffed out yet either. I'm letting it cure for a little longer then taking it back to the paint shop for them to buff it out.

I know, at first I wasn't going to go with the factory color, but to save money I did. It came out looking alot better than I expected.

Oh wow! Looks awesome! I am getting my truck done in the next few months... I can't decide on doing black again or going with a medium/dark blue metallic.

I like it much better without the stripes too!

Yeah, I like it a whole lot better without the stripes. I still got the photochopped pics of it without the stripes, cause I couldn't wait to see it without them.

Krash,

All from that can of spray paint in pic #2?

I must say, the paint w/o the stripes and the liner makes the truck look sooo much better. Looks awesome, Krash!

Also, have you considered tinting your windows? I think a light tint all around would make the truck look a little sharper than it already is.

Bob

Actually, I said the same thing. I'm waiting on my next paycheck and my buddy to have the free time to do it. I want to do it anyway because the rear windows are turning into a shade of purple and I want to get it off and retint them.

And all that can of spray paint was to get rid of some of the rust when I first got the truck.

Paint job ran me 780$. That was for a coat of sealer since me and my buddy used laquer primer and since the paint shop was going to use urethane based paints they had to seal it. At least thats what they told me. Anyway, they sealed it, put a coat of black primer, maroon pearl metallic (factory color), and 2 coats of clear. The guys up at Precision Autobody in Mt washington are good guys. The materials cost about 480$ and they charged me 300$ flat, no hourly rate. Lifetime warantee on the paint also.

Thanks for all the great comments. Seems like its missing something to me, maybe some TRD decals on the back or something.

Yeah it will go back in the paint shop for them to buff it out in a couple of weeks.

Ive seen some of the trd decals on second gens..I think they look pretty sweet.

They arent gonna be wet sanding in a couple weeks..Itll be like sanding a granite stone. Wet sanding needs to be done within about a week tops. Unless they know something I dont.

Hey thats what they told me. It doesn't look bad, there only a little bit of orange peel look around the roof area.

Maybe they use a DA to wetsand. They have to be planning to wetsand cause there isnt any point in buffing it if you aint gonna wetsand. If the orange peel isn't bad guess you dont have to much to worry about. Cool looks Good either way
